What really constitutes as a flop? Album sales? Koffi couldn’t even promote the album properly and piracy was at an all time high. But this is funny to me, in the midst of 2006, we were talking about how solid the album was despite the so called Ferre-Fally rivalry at the time which was even more dumb because they had already left QL and Koffi was still being dragged into it then came the lawsuit. That rivalry over shadowed the REALLY good compositions from guys like Shella Mputu, Binda Bass, Kamenga and Jipson. As a matter of fact, I didn’t skip any songs on the album and as a matter of fact Pharmacien was still playing in the clubs in Kinshasa when I went in late 2010 even though Nyokalesse was burning hot at the time. DDM is an underrated album that doesn’t get the respect it deserves and his best since in the past 15 years in my opinion.

Flop in terms of the quality I don't care about sales. I expected at least to be on a higher level like Force De Frappe, Afairre d'état

Back in the time Affaire d'état was ahead of its time

It did but DDM was the catapult for those writers aside from Fally & Ferre to release great solo albums, which again were overshadowed by that rivalry and the powerhouse that WMM was at the time and its subsequent defectors, but I digress. Detractors can say what they want, but you can’t deny that DDM was probably the last group album that helped to lay the groundwork for those albums. Koffi probably didn’t realize it then but I bet he does now: Your legacy is forever and worth way more than money. That’s probably why he doesn’t give a shit with what he puts out now or what we as fans think. He has nothing else to prove.
