Since Zaiko wasnt available Koffi and his group got picked... after all the trouble the risk thru, they played two concert and Koffi gave Beniko $200(as they agreed in contract) but as they were also asking money to other donors close to Savimbi  one told them Savimbi gave Koffi $400K( He organized a reception for the band but Koffi brought only female dancers)

You forgot to add the way they went from Kinshasa to the town where Savimbi living, going with a military plane and that there wasn’t airport when landing, but just a lawn. Then Koffi and his dancers being brought to a good place where they slept and Beniko & Quartier Latin sleeping at a place where you had just simple mattresses. They were also scared because the place where they slept was a place where all buildings were ruin of the way they were bombed. Also for the way seeing people without arms and suddenly the Angolan Air Force started to fire bombs. It was a trip full with risks.

But that idea was shot down by non other than President Jossart saying to the sponsors literally that "you are being too nice". Obviously this is because the Leader and the administrators saw an opportunity to get that money and share it among themselves without the ordinary musicians. Explains a lot why Africa as a continent is years behind in terms of development. This is basically the mentality of our leaders from time we got independence. Mawa trop.

Then suddenly Wemba visited him with Franco Makiadi, trying to convince him to rejoin Viva La Musica. With Emeneya replying that he would never rejoin if they don’t managed to get Dindo Yogo (who was his best friend) and Huits Kilo. Dindo’s dad refused the offer, but Huits Kilo accepted and they managed also to get Patcho Star back.

Popolipo also once told that story of how they all left with Emeneya during an interview with Addy Londolé, saying that the late Fafa de Molokaï was drunk and calling Wemba faux vieux hahahah. But he was the first to rejoin. According Veve the project ended from day1, because Wemba accused him for wanting to destabilize his band and Verckys immeditaly sacrificed himself to get Wemba’s trust back by showing him the list of all musicians who left and Wemba going to their houses one by one.

Lol. I get the sense that the 3rd generation of Congolese musicians as much as they had their own faults but they never kept grudges for a long time. In this generation of Clan Wenge which musicians would dare openly label the leader "faux leader" and tomorrow that same leader even allows you back in his orchestra.

This interview should have been minimum 3hrs maybe part one and two. Vieux Poli had so many stories and anecdotes to share but Ado didnt seem to fully capitalise on him being willing to talk. That story about how Beniko asked Papa Wemba after he came back from Europe if he had a chance of being interviewd on radio while in Europe and Papa Wemba then saying yes i was interviewed by Jean Stock and Koffi and Beniko laughing about it every time they met because they were sure that Vieux Bokul was trying to hype himself when most likely this Jean Stock animator never existed.

yeah the legal papers. He said the booklet, but it was mistake. I think that I forgot, because he doesn't follow anything of Quartier Latin since he left. Yeah he was really broken, he didn't go into the details how the other stuff that happened before and after Bercy. Also how Koffi went away with his passeport giving it to a ngulu, saying to the guy to marry a woman with European papers with the name Beniko Popolipo, just to do everything to get him never ever again in Europe back and how he got chased away from his house he was renting in Lingwala, since that it was on Koffi's name. (the same stuff happened to Do Akongo).

Yes, you are 100% right about that. This attitude should be changed, that leaders of any kind has no solidarity towards people they control. This is why things go hard in Congo. Leaders only focus on collecting wealth for themselves.
