What happened in Peggy Tabu that made him not to become like the big Congolese artist and or like the big Franco Congolese ones? I can clearly see he was based in Europe and for a guy based in Europe he had pretty much amazing results. Did he fail because he should have pursue a more European career so keep the lyrics only in French with some sprint of Lingal Did he fail bcause people were costantly comparing him to his father? Or because he was trying to break in Kin being in Europe?

He did alright, he just needs a restart and I’m sure he will do well once he kick starts again.

He didn’t fail. It’s just that if you want to succeed in Kinshasa you have to persevere. It took Wazekwa 5 albums to be the man who’s to today and Koffi like 3 years after restarting his music-career. The Wenge boys had also a hard time, being thrown away from places and humiliated. But on the end they succeed. People forget all these stuff they think that succes just come in 1 minute. Also being a musician in Kinshasa isn’t easy you have to pay tv-channels & radio to put your music, pay musicians, etc. Also giving concerts in order to promote your album, but just getting 1000 dollars. To survive you must to have multiple donors, side chicks coming from wealthy families, an influential manager who can promote and mobilize people at places like Zando, a spokesman to talk about your music on tv and support from those women doing..... jobs at bars & hotels and in some thugs.

I hope Pegguy comes back with another project, I enjoyed his last one.
