But why did Aime Buanga give up El Paris so easily despite being the founder?

He wasn't liking the way Francis Kalombo tried to split the band, when he refused Kongolo Mobutu's offer to go performing in Kinshasa and for his sister's wedding. Because when they started Damien Dimonekene used to be their president and Ricoco Bulambemba the main star with his solo album Molangi Ya Malasi, being supported by Papa Wemba and alot of people coming from the Matonge-quarter (Mere Malou, etc.). They were about to prepare their group-album, but in meantime Marie Paul and co weren't happy the way they were only singing Ricoco's songs in concerts and how their band was dominated by people coming from Matonge, since that people coming from Bandalungwa wanted also to get some influence in the band. When Kongolo Mobutu saw that Aime Buanga was influencing Ricoco to not accept his offer, he brought Francis Kalombo in. Francis Kalombo would in a short time become the vice-president and quickly problems would start in the band about leadership, which were created by him and not long after that Marie Paul decided to record his own solo album Nganga Nzambe. Aime Buanga saw that he started to lose his authority and refused to participate on that album (Boss Matuta would play bass on that album). Zing Zong who was Aime Buanga's friend decided to choose Marie Paul side (That's why they gave him the nickname Moise, if you look to the albumcover Live Kinshasa '93, he's shown like a leader). They went without Aime Buanga, Ricoco, Cesar Loboko, Diva La Marquis to Zaire and a massive succes there. Then when they returned the relation of the two camps became worser and concerts of them in Europe were like two bands were performing. Then on a point, the band split with Ricoco and Aime Buanga on one side along with JF Ifonge, Diva La Marquise, Cesar Loboko and co having Damien Dimonekene as president and as name Wenge Aile Paris. The one of Marie Paul, Zing Zong along with Jus d'Ete Mulopwe, Savanet Depitcho, Ya Yuyu, Rento Vena, Collegien, Maradona and JDL on the other side with Francis Kalombo as president and as name Wenge El Paris.

apart of the fact they became too much big egos and stars in a same group and had to split in two groups one behind marie paul depitsho, one behind aime and ricoco, aime seems naturally like that he does not hang on to things which can explain his irregular career,he seems in constant need of change unlike guys like jb or werra who had it clear that they would fight to become strong leaders and stay in that until their last breath
aime on the other hand does not mind at all having to try something else, blaise bula is a bit like that too, they are not obsessed with music and success
imagine blaise is in kin,but doing music is still not his first job,he is director of a restaurant and music hall and spends most of his time in that
I see. The laid back, good guy type of personality rarely make it big in Congolese music. Because I think if being in Europe was the reason for abandoning Wenge 4*4, he had no other reason for not cementing his position in original Aile Paris apart from what you have explained.

Thank you @Mfumu Vata. But the next question is why Aime Buanga did not want the Kongolu Mobutu offer of Aile Paris touring in Kinshasa. Wouldn't anyone jump at that offer at that time given the monies that would accrue knowing that the promoter is the son of the president. And why is it that Kongolu wanted to promote Bana Paris instead of Wenge 4*4 I thought he was their main man at the time with his name mentioned in all their songs at the time.

aime likes things straight and well organizedhe was the one who started wanting some structure in original wenge 4X4 werra didier could not care less with roles they were just wanting to rehearse and enjoy
the el paris guys were taking a gamble by going to zaire for kongulu's offer without passeport, without europe papers for most if not all of them so he rejected and kongulu sent him a warning message not to come to kinshasa as long as his father's face is on the bills
kongulu was cool with 4X4 until something happened about women so to punish 4X4 he supported el paris and blocked wenge's plein feux from 1992 to 1995 or 1996 then when they made peace he dumped el paris

Thanks @Archos. This makes sense. Kongulu really held a lot of people hostage during his father's reign. And this was a guy in his early 20s at the time right? ... ...In Zambia, we had a similar situation of a presidents son in the 90s who ran terror. He even prematurely ended a career of one of our national football teams best centre backs (who was part of the rebuilt national team after the 1993 Gabon disaster killed all the national team players) by shooting him in his knee after a disagreement at a night club.

The problem of Kongolo Mobutu with Wenge 4x4, was that during their 10th anniversary they held an election of the function 'honorary president' for their donors. Kongolo Mobutu thought that he would win, but diamond-dealer Tchatcho Mbala Kashogi ended up by winning those elections. Kongolo Mobutu was really furious and promised to himself to finish Wenge 4x4.

Another reason that Aime Buanga refused the trip to Kinshasa, was that Kongolo Mobutu asked him to participate to the lawsuite of Wenge Aile Paris vs Wenge Musica 4x4 in Kinshasa. Back in 1991 when Ricoco Bulambemba released Molangi Ya Malasi under the name Wenge Musica 'Aile Paris', former Wenge Musica-president Belis Mfumu Luvutula (RIP) and Jules Biselele (RIP) went to create fanclubs in all areas of Kinshasa, which angered Didier Masela, JB Mpiana & Werrason. They started a lawsuit against them for using the name Wenge. Belis Mfumu and Jules Biselele even slept in jail and ended up by losing the case, despite having the papers of old meetings of the early 80s, having Aime Buanga, Zing Zong and Belis himself on the list. Masela, Werrason & JB Mpiana won the case, because of having made Wenge Musica 4x4 an official mark and company in 1987 at the city council with the structure of JB Mpiana as president, Masela as founder, Werrason as financial director and Alain Makaba as chef d'orchestre. Kongolo Mobutu wanted to reopen the case, by using Aime Buanga and as mission to let Wenge Musica 4x4 forbid to use the name Wenge. But Aime Buanga refused which made him say the thing that Archos just mentioned "not to come to kinshasa as long as his father's face is on the bills". After succes of Wenge El Paris in Kinshasa, Wenge Musica 4x4 hit very hard back by their triomphial return from Europe and the release of Kalayi Boeing, which was a huge succes. Kongolo Mobutu was scared that Pleins Feux would be a second bomb, so he did everything to block the release of that album. When he saw that Manda Chante left Wenge Musica and wanted to join Anti Choc of Bozi Boziana, after those problems with JB about his acne, he convinced him to join Wenge El Paris. But he needed Manda Chante's passeport to get him in Europe, which was then in Mbuta Kis hands. It created a whole drama, because Wenge 4x4 didn't want to give Kongolo Manda's passeport. So Kongolo decided to hit hard back, Alain Mpela having to do push-ups and being thrown in water, Adolphe being kidnapped, Wenge Musica's concert at Palais du Peuple being disturbed by DSP's soldiers coming in and throwing with tear gas (after that Werrason angered Kongolo, by doing Tshisekedi's victory sign and throwing shots on him during the ad for their concert at Palais du Peuple). This all made Wenge 4x4 end up by giving Manda's passeport and Manda Chante going to Europe. But he wouldn't join El Paris, because that El Paris wasn't a real band, some living in Lille, others in Belgium (Jus d'Ete), Holland, etc. So he decided to join his dreamband Viva La Musica. Then when they were about to promote the concert of Manda's integration in Viva La Musica, Papa Wemba got a call of Kongolo Mobutu which scared him. Manda Chante then joined Marie Paul, Savanet Depitcho, Zing Zong, Maradona and co to prepare their second trip to Kinshasa for concerts to celebrate christmas and new year eve '94 there.

After a  reconcilation in 1993 with Wenge Musica, Kongolo Mobutu would fall out in 1995 again with Wenge Musica, because of him being furious that a woman prefered JB Mpiana over him. Kongolo Mobutu forbid Wenge Musica 4x4 to have concerts in Kinshasa and in meantime he dediced to turn towards Wenge El Paris who were like 2 years blocked in Kinshasa after a conflict with him. Marie Paul and I think also Manda Chante (but I can be wrong) went to Paris and met tourpromoter Baudouin Bikoko who signed with him/them contracts to get Wenge El Paris back in Europe, Marie Paul tried to convince Jus d'Ete Mulopwe, Rento Vena, Zing Zong and Ya Yuyu to come with him to Kinshasa and prepare the tour and their new album. Rento Vena & Zong Zing refused, Rento Vena not trusting it knowing how the '93-trip went wrong and not wanting to risk he took in 1992, Zong Zing not wanting to experience again the problems they had after their second trip to Kinshasa in 1993 (he begged to Kongolo Mobutu to get bring him back to France, because of his wife being pregnant and promised to leave Aile Paris). Jus d'Ete Mulopwe and Ya Yuyu accepted to offer, but once they came in Kinshasa, things had changed. Wenge Musica 4x4 had reconciled with Kongolo Mobutu again and went not long after that to Europe & USA for a long tour and recordings of Pentagone and Wenge El Paris seeing their tour getting cancelled, them being still being blocked in Kinshasa.

About the conflict of Aime Buanga against Marie Paul & Zing Zong and the trip to Kinshasa, Aime Buanga sung about that. from 2:20 min (the song is called Mombembo), Ricoco already left him at that time.

@Archos, @Mfumu & @Paysan, do you guys think if Wenge EL Paris wasn’t blocked in kin all them years and were able to tour Europe that they could’ve become THE Wenge before the 4x4 split or after and been much more respected then they are now? Or what do you think they could’ve been if they were able to tour?

talent wise, yes they were quite strong if i am honest these recent days i have given proper attention to wenge el paris before depitcho and manda left and after and rarely a disappointing song, the let down el paris had is that two of the three main stars of el paris could not dance to save their lives lol manda and marie paul, and we felt a similar effect with jb  in the zenith th days with kibens rio chai being poor dancers in the lineup next to great dancers jb and alain mpela, and aimelia who tried in front of a maison mere who had adjani as the only "passenger" in dance although mabialo was not super great( haha his legendary comical koyimbiko in that zenith rehearsal)

Wenge 4x4 refusing to have a fara-fara concert in the same stage says already alot.

About Marie Paul & Manda Chante not big dancers, don’t forget that their philosophy was more like Viva La Musica with Depitcho & Marie Paul often animating despite having Doukoure as atalaku. Things changed just before the Wenge split when Depitcho left, having Charly Chaplin, Doukoure & Bob Lorenzo as big dancers.

I really don't understand the hype around this guy especially with some of the younger generation it seems on social media. He's not a good singer, we don't see him dance anymore cause he's not an active artist, never had a standout album.
Or moto asala le monde eza yo Nzambe tata, Kita okata po mokili trop matata, kata- Fally Ipupa

Looks why do you think Robinio got accepted by Maison Mere despite his awful singing skills? As men we don't see it clearly but looks give artist a really great push, take Fally without his looks and he would struggle to make those results, unfortunately in life and with many women looks are evrything
