With the rant against Werra peoole actually forgot that he was quite a good vocalist both in Papa Wemba's band Viva La Musica and in JB's band BCBG, I like his vocal in the Seguin song Sans Permission and I especially loved his work in Anti Terro

sans permission is actually his song from loonng ago even before seguin arrived in 4X4
He used to sing it after or before rehearsals with alain mpela and werra (you'll notice kibens even sings it kuda like the old voice of werra)

Why did he leave Wemba? I loved his small vocals from Fula Ngenge. I wish he participated in more albums. Also, he disappeared for a bit before Anti-Terror. How did he end up with JB Mpiana?

to explain a little bit he was with jb already since 90's way before split,then each of the main singers started having private singers who came with songs or who worked with them to prepare their songs to release with wenge
werra had serge mabiala and alpatshino,jb had bogus and kibens,blaise bula had rio de janeiro and eldorado,adolphe had sometimes lacoste
then when split happened he went to viva after selling some songs to papa wemba but things did not work out like he wanted  so he went solo to record an album but at some point jb told him instead of waiting for funds from a producer which he was not having  there is space for him in bcbg so he joined when internet was already done so he had to wait for anti terro

I don’t rate Bogus highly, Sometimes I find the way he sings so annoying at times. He sounds like someone that’s trying hard not to cry.

Yeah, his voice can appear unorthodox. But he's a good singer.

And he's very good when it comes to writing. Maybe the best in his generation? I put him above Kibens. Archos, what do you think?

Bogus Bompema left because Wemba's staff in Kinshasa were giving them headache after coming back from their first Zenith and the Fula Ngenge recordings, also they weren't paid and had to pay instruments with their own money. Bendoson was also angry about it and he would be suspended/fired, which made him join Quartier Latin. Bogus Bompema would follow some weeks after and start his solo-career.

About Bogus joining Wenge BCBG, he started recording his unreleased album in Kinshasa and then JB Mpiana promised to fund his album and get a producer for him. Then when JB Mpiana went with Wenge BCBG to Europe for the recordings of Internet and their long Europe-USA tour, Bogus had to join then some months to start the recordings of his album, which had to be recorded with them. But then when he had to join them, he couldn't record his album anymore, because Titina, Alain Mpela, Kaludji and co were busy with buying their cars (I think JB didn't want him to record that album and wanted him to get into BCBG, to also benefit from his songs). So from then Bogus decided to join Wenge BCBG and started to rehearse with the PPU until that BCBG came from Europe and officialy joining the band. Bercy was his first Europe-tour with Wenge BCBG.

Both are bit different,kibens is much more into love than bogus,bogus is more into social life for example surprise kapangala or cherie maria for papa wemba talking about a man rejected by the family of maria because of social status,or education for jb...
kibens is more into romantism( haha alino kizaza looord  one of the most complicated songs to translate to somebody)
but kibens is much more prolific,now he has surely changed with age,but in 4X4 and bcbg before social media era he'd literally create songs during rehearsals,for example liberez was born 5 years before late sunda released it just by him hearing the bass line when the musicians were warming up before singers started to rehearse

I agree about the distinction: Bogus is more on the philosophy/social side when Kibens is more on the romantic side.

But Kibens's style can get too corny sometimes.

Bogus is deeper and more subtle.
