Tabu Ley, Verckys and Grand Maitre Franco killed alot of bands and are responsible for alot of splits in our music. Verckys tried atlease to profit from it, by producing them with his recordlabel VEVE. But Franco and Tabu Ley really didn't want any young band dominating them, if Verckys didn't create VEVE, then 70s, 80s would have been like the 90s and 2000s, of young bands not being able to be known and ending up by joining Afrisa or TPOK Jazz and Tabu Ley & Franco profiting from them like the way Koffi, Wemba, JB & Werra profited from the generation of Ferre, Fally, Didier Lacoste and co who weren't able to break through with their bands (Staff London, Royaume Lifaki, SVP La Gamme, Kibinda Nkoy, etc.) because of the lack of proper recordlabels in Kinshasa.


Tabu Ley, Verckys & Grand Maitre Franco are responsible for killing Thu Zahina (the models of Zaiko Langa Langa, which was then seen as the first band of the 3th generation. They came with new things, like songs of 10 minutes (back in the days, songs used to be 2/3/4 minutes long), but many people forgot or don't know about it and attribute it to Franco Luambo Makiadi. Thu Zahina was also the first band to use female dancers and Tabu Ley then copied them by creating "les rocherettes" and Franco following after the succes of Tabu Ley's Olympia, but many people think that Tabu Ley introduced female dancers in our music. Many people think that  Zaiko Langa Langa was the first band to the 3th generation to get fame, which isn't the case.

For those who don't know Seskain Molenga is the first drummer in the Congolese music. Because back in the days they used only percussion and the singers using maracas.

Funny that Franco always mentioned Zaiko Langa Langa but he actually liked Pepe Kalle more than Zaiko. He wanted to destroy Empire Bakuba the most with attempt to get Pepe Kalle which Pepe Kalle turned down.

Franco had a deep love for the voice of Pepe Kalle so much so, that apparently he told Pepe Kalle not to eat. Well at least according to Djouna Mumbafu. He even wanted to sing like him and play Pepe Kalle's musical style. That is according to Ntesa which I actually believe because Non definitely had Empire Bakuba sound if it had been a Rumba group.

Speaking of Seskain Molenga, Franco wanted to get a feeling of Pepe Kalle's Empire and as result he actually got Seskain Molenga himself to play for OKJ for about 3 to 5 years I suppose. I am surprised that Ado did not mention that considering Franco changed his music to Africa Jazz music more from 1973 to his death in 1989.

One thing that we need to know is the controversy of Seskain Molenga and Empire Bakuba. I want to his version of what led to the fallout between him and Pepe Kalle, Dilu and Papy Tex. Papy Tex will never mention it because he does not want to trash Seskain Molenga publicly since he wants to acknowledge him for giving him and Pepe Kalle a chance in music. Dilu has mentioned that Seskain stole all the money and gave him, Pepe Kalle and Papy Tex nothing leading to an end to collaboration. But I want to hear Seskain's side of the story.
