Back on those days I was seeing it as an indirect shot to Koffi Olomide. The songs of Longue Histoire volume 2 are so underrated. My favorites are Basali Nteke, Fololo, Mademoiselle & Pierroccini. It looks like Emeneya decided to put the best songs on volume 1 and those who are less on volume 2.

After Long Histoire, was Kester able to put out another popular album or did people consider him finished? If he hadn't died, do you think he could recover his career?

After the succes of Nzinzi (the moment when he had a long hiatus and Wenge came in) they were saying every time that he was finished until his death, despite proving them often wrong.

The succes of Longue Histoire didn't change it. When he came back with Victoria Eleison from Kenya (after staying there for 8 months) they performed at Cinemax and it was a huge mpiaka with the press again started to write negative articles about him. But the next day or week they performed at the YMCA-stadium which was packed. Emeneya's last succes was the Le Jour Le Plus Long-album (Nouvel Ordre flopped, but that was a group-album). It was not on the same level like Longue Histoire, but it was still a succes. The succes in Kinshasa was bigger then the one in Europe. Maybe because he was more Kinshasa-based.

Emeneya would become a brother in christ if he was still in life. He already announced that This is Me would be in two parts (one part having gospel songs and the other part "miziki ya mokili"). When he was sick he really decided to quit music and start his gospel-career.

Les Jour les Plus Long is one excellent album which should have much more success outside of Kinshasa and Europe.
