The man who made Congolese music-gospel sound like Ndombolo passed away, but no one of the big Congolese gospel artists paid tribute to him. He used to be a member of Vox Dei who used to make music in the style of Zaiko Langa Langa back in the 80s.

It's sad at least some of us probably never heard about him today, but I can say this: Tambwe Tech and Vox Dei walked so that the likes of Olivier Kalabasi & Moise Matuta could run. May he RIP.

The way I see it, Congolese gospel had largely benefitted from keyboards, drum machines and other electronic instruments coming to the country and Vox Dei must've been the outliers at that time. How successful were they?

Yep, Vox Dei created the current wave of Congolese gospel.

It's sad that none of these musicians paid homage to him. He birthed their style.

If I remember correctly, Vox Dei was the group of Honore Ngbanda's church, in Lingwala.

At 10:22 I think the singer is Katalayi I'm not sure but he singing the crie CNN sang.
