Wenge El Paris missed alot of talented singers and guitarists because of Manda Chante & Depitcho. Did ACMCO really choose Adolphe Dominguez as best star of 1997? Or did Pitshou mistaken the year, because I don't remember that. If that's true than that is huge corruption scandal. Not even Defao, but Adolphe? This all to make JB happy, who didn't want be second behind Marie Paul. That was really unfair for all those events with huge crowds El Paris hold in Kinshasa (Place Victoire, Stade 20 Mai, Palais du Peuple,etc.) that year. Really sad and strange that Marie Paul didn't manage to get a contract for a tour in Europe in 1998, despite the huge succes Couvre Feu had that year in Kinshasa, even Bana Ok managed came in Europe that year. Kongolo Mobutu wasn't in power anymore, so nobody could from the ADFL-regime could block them. There must be a black hand behind it from a jealous rival or elder.


 I remember Werrason also being mad, because of ACMCO not putting 13 Ans as best song of the year 2001, not even selecting it. They gave JB Mpiana the title of best song of the year with Sans Te Toucher, while the song hadn't the same impact that 13 Ans had that year. They selected just Werra's song Blandine and put it as second song of the year. ACMCO also a new category of best composition and giving the prize to JB for the Jeannette (I think to make donor Adam Bombole, happy since that the song was dedicated to his late wife).

So Pitshou Santiago wants to say that the solo's of Popolipo played in Papa Plus, Petite Soeur and Somalien were reworked version his creations? I already started to think about someone giving those solo's to Popolipo, because they are very different from Popolipo's style if you compare it to the solo's in played in Koweit Rive Gauche.

Reddy Amisi is a very respected artist in Congo, because of his songs who have different subjects and deep messages compared to other artists. Compteur a Zero brought Reddy Amisi back in the spotlights, he had concerts with huge crowds in Kinshasa (FIKIN, GHK, Marche de Liberte, Terrain Muncipale de Bandalungwa, etc) and went to Pointe Noire, Brazzaville and Luanda. He was contacted by tour promoters in Europe to bring his band there, but he declined the offers and perfered to do playbacks in nightclubs of Europe. At the end of the year he received from ACMCO the prizes best song of the year and best songwriter.

Marcahouse didn't play lead in Compteur a Zero, he was a rhythm-guitarist. It was Guy Bayaya who played lead on  most songs (he would end up by joining Didier Lacoste's band) and and the guy who played on Tambara, he forgot his name.

Compteur a Zero is ok, but not a really special album. It's for more intresting for sebene-lovers, since that Reddy's previous albums were done in the Viva-style (except Etoile). His old albums contains the most hits that he perform until this day (Libala, Profitez, Orphelin, Mbongwana, etc.). Reddy's most succesful albums are those he released when he was in Viva La Musica. Zakina (1987), Queen Lina (1990), Injustice (1993), Prudence (1994) & Ziggy (1997). Zakina was the album that really put him on the map, after being longtime in the shadow of Lidjo Kwempa, Maray Maray (Bebe Tshanda's father) and Luciana Demingongo. Queen Lina was 1991's one of the best albums, Reddy earning alot of respect for the song of Bomengo Ata Kala and all poor people finally feeling represented and reaching another dimension. Injustice was the album that kept Viva La Musica strong after the split of 1992 and fighting the succes of Nouvelle Generation.



Prudence was the most succesful and seen as best Reddy Amisi-album. He went back to Zaire on his own to tour (Kinshasa, Mbuji Mayi, Matadi, Lubumashi, Brazzaville, Pointe Noire) with huge concerts. Donors, fans and journalists asked if it wasn't time to leave Papa Wemba and start his solo career, but he refused and wanted to stay loyal with Wemba. His crowds at public concerts were so huge, that people started to die at some point and walls falling down. Reddy ended up by getting away with almost all prizes of ACMCO, getting the prizes "best star", "best singer", "best song", "best songwriter", "best album" & "special jury award". In 1997 he released Ziggy, which was one of the most awaited albums, but that album couldn't equal Prudence's succes. It was still a succes, but not on the level of Reddy's previous albums Injustice, Queen Lina and Prudence. Towards the end of 1997 he would return to for a national tour (Mbuji Mayi, Kisangani, Bukavu, Lubumbashi, Kinshasa) for tabaco-brand Ambassade with help from musicians like Alpatshino, Babel and co. Often people say that it was a huge mistake, to not leave Papa Wemba in 1995 and that the succes Wemba had with Nouvelle Ecriture was normally destined to him. Btw Reddy Amisi was the one who co-founded Nouvelle Ecriture and recruited many musicians (most being those who helped him in the concerts in hold in Kinshasa to promote Prudence).

His following album Etoile, which was recorded with Nouvelle Ecriture, Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba and QL-atalaku's flopped and was overshadowed by the Pepe Kalle's Cocktail and the war of Clan Wenge (Intervention Rapide vs Titanic). However, just after Wemba first Zenith, he would return quickly to Kinshasa for again a national tour and he would receive a set of instruments from a donor, which worstened the relation with him and Wemba. Because Wemba's staff reported that he was about to start a band, Wemba already being mad that Reddy used atalaku's on his album and his staff making it worser by saying that Reddy backstabbed him for inviting Koffi, who re-started disrespecting Wemba openly in the media.



After the release of Fula Ngenge and the event of Forest National (where Wemba invited King Kester Emeneya and Nyoka Longo), he went to Kinshasa to celebrate Wemba's 50th birthday at the six day festival at Stade des Martyrs and few concerts with Nouvelle Ecriture, then he went back in Europe. But after that the situation of him in Viva La Musica wasn't the same anymore. Wemba started openly to attack him and Stino in the media, saying indirectly that their voices doesn't fit in Viva anymore and that it was time to leave. Wemba at somepoint going with Nouvelle Ecriture to Europe, but not inviting them and other Viva-musicians for the big events at La Madeleine, Olympia and Zenith. Reddy Amisi wanted to leave, but after some advice from King Kester Emeneya, he decided to stay and went to record a duo-album with Stino Mubi, called Fin d'Exil to prove Wemba a point that they weren't finished. The album would flop and also getting boycotted by Wemba's staff. Not long after that Reddy decided to leave and went back to Kinshasa forming in Sept. 2001 his band Casa Do Canto and giving two monhts later their first official concert at grand Hotel de Kinshasa
