Now I understand  why the Double Zenith of Koffi didn't take place. But that doesn't make sense, why did the concert promoter put on the posters that Koffi would perform on two dates, while Zenith hadn't give them a free place on the sunday? Koffi himself also signing the contract while he knew that he will perform on a moneday in New York at Licoln Center.  That's not professional, it made me wonder about the contracts of Congolese Zenith's who mostly take place in the night. Were those Zenith's also not official like those Olympia's of Wemba, JB & Koffi (98-2000), who hadn't their names of the front of the musichall ?

Back then, could you tell who was going to participate in Effrakata and albums recorded in Europe versus those left behind? I know you're well socialized with the music scene there. And Brigade and Kerozene proved her wrong, although CNN is untouchable as a live performance atalaku in QL history

hahaha lol Koffi is a champion in that, but she was right. Me and alot of QL-fans saw them as to young and prefered CNN who stayed behind and they didn't animate those old animations well back then.

The way he expresses himself in French, I don’t think there will ever be an artist in DRC that matches his general intelligence. We know he’s crazy, but even up to now it captives me how intelligent he is when he wants to be

I was at Zenith and was not impressed by their performance at the time (the concert was actually a bit of a mess by QL standards). Lolo Milolo was spot on with her analysis, but in the end Koffi had the correct statement of telling the public to wait until they hear their “own” animations on Effrakata

CNN got one of the biggest 12’s ever, especially a very short time after his stellar performance in Force de Frappe. It still surprises that he rejoined the band

I thought you said the concert was fire from the beginning till end? Even Kerozene said he was a faux atalaku at zenith and wasn’t ready, which is why Brigade was doing most of the animation.
CNN should’ve also been at that concert he would’ve easily carried both Brigade and Kerozene.

The concert was good (so much bass), but messy in terms of organization. Back then Koffi had tightly orchestrated shows usually. The animations were not the best interpreted, but the rest of the band and dancers were stellar. There was very good energy between the crowd and the band

Koffi put the you guys to the fire by featuring them and abruptly removing CNN, who was a staple. It ended up being a good move to onboard them and prepare people for Effrakata, which was mayi ya sika of a album

If CNN never got into the controversy with the dancer, would Effrakata have three atalakus? What was the original goal of that album after they returned to Kinshasa from Bercy? They had a pretty big band, including reserves.

Like I said back in those days bands were bringing mostly 2 atalaku's and since the succes of Solola Bien most bands were adopting the system of having 1 baritone and 1 tenor atalaku. If CNN hadn't problems with Koffi about Sandralina, then Brigade wouldn't go to Europe to animate on Effrakata. The plan was just to let Quartier Latin sing on Effrakata, like all Koffi's solo album. 2 atataku's 3 guitar players, 8 singers,.. But nobody was sure about his place, because Quartier Latin is a band of problems and musicians sometimes behind left in Kinshasa for a minor problem. By the way Koffi was doubting about naming his album Panique Generale or Effrakata.



When Quartier Latin came back in October 2000, Kerozene & Brigade weren't there, they came months later. CNN was the only atalaku and he was joined by John Scot who came from Delta Force & Jean Molayi. A few weeks later Christian na Nzenze & Ramazani also joined, after leaving Bendoson alone with his band Nouvelle Ecriture de l'An 2000. Having the Parc des Princes project, when Force de Frappe got released in Dec. 2000, the plan was to release Effrakata in june 2001. But when the project of occulted, Koffi planned to release his album towards the end of the year like most of his album in that era.

I know kerozone was 15 at the time but how old was brigade?

Brigade was 21 when he joined Quartier Latin.

If I understand well CNN was still coming to concerts animating with Brigade before they go to Europe ? (By the way is it true they had a fight back then ?) Zenith was really the first concert of Kerozene ? Waw that's a strong  beginning.

Was CNN still coming to concerts after he saw Koffi f.... Sandralina ?
