After wacthing JDL's interview, him saying that songs like Djodjo Ngonda don't exist anymore and that his next song would be like a Wenge 4x4-song, I went to listen Le Baron and immediatly also whole Anti Terro. Something that I haven't done since 2004, always skipping all songs, except Plainte A, Doleance and the songs JB Mpiana put. But after listening the whole album, I was asking myself if it wasn't a waste of JB to give JDL, Alba, Sunda, Fi-Carre and Gentamicine the opportunity to put songs on Anti Terro ? I'm not saying that the songs are bad, they are ok, but there is something missing. It's like those songs don't have a soul. Back at that time most albums had were topnotch from the start to the end and there was any presence of a skippable song.
Anti Terro is very diffrent from Internet. On Internet  almost all songs were  excellent, but on Anti Terro most songs  were ok-songs.
I wasn't feeling Kibens and Rio, they were both 'produit fini", JB Mpiana had to give the PPU's of Kinshasa (Sakoko, Djino and co) the opportunity to put vocals on those songs instead of them. Also why had Kibens and Rio to complicate himself by imitating Malian/Senegalese singers in a few songs ?

From Anti Terro, I only like Bikou le Brun's Plainte A, the six songs of JB Mpiana, Doleance and BK Le Senateur. Temperature came close, but I didn't like the way JB Mpiana sung on that song, it sounded like he tried to imitate Rio. BK Le Senateur is good, but Richard Mukena isn't a singer to sing lead, more for vocals. Richard is a cool guy, but JB hadn't to recruit him.

I don't understand why JB ordered in 1999 Djolina Mandudila to recruit 12 singers, knowing that he would never give them a chance and with the years recruiting more and more singers and guitarists. Most of them rotting in the reserves.

Anti Terro is a faux album, Kibens and Rio were finished, Alain Mpela, Titina and even Makaba’s presence were missing on this album. Plainte A and BK Le Senateur were my favourite songs on the album. The sound omg the sound was not good, we needed the PPU from Europe (Dolin, Chikito and co) and the PPU from Kin (Abraham, Djino and co) on the album.
The chorus wasn’t even that good either on some songs. Seguin showed that he was a faux drummer on this album, he played terribly. You can’t compare Anti Terro to the albums that came out that year, Monde Arabe, Alerte Générale, Miracles. Time has not been kind to the album.

also one factor jb about the sound jb was never recording in ndiaye over suspicion of "kisi trap"until the primus generiques where he had no choice after them not being happy with the sound of first primus ad(and the horrendous drum sound of studio ica and meko making seguin sound like he was playing on a chair )
look at the big difference in kipe ya yo and quel est ton probleme done in ndiaye
jb had no choice but to give them songs as he was on his weakest ever possibly on artistic and personal period so he was "held hostage" somehow by the old guard
jb should not have followed kibens' idea of having singers to complete 5 years of formation before singing on cd,smartly using the argument of chorus which is something jb does not play with  and showing jb that most of the young guys of the fudji generation were not able to do chorus the bcbg way
this time they have allowed new singers faster though but too little too late, some even left already

JB Mpiana is a faux leader, he could have done like Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba or the late Luambo Makiadi to say "no this song isn't good, come back with another one" like they were doing with their musicians which made them often releasing excellent songs. JB always like to blame others, but he has to look to himself in the mirror.

Lol Emo was right, Kibens really killed bcbg. 5 years is a long ass time especially back then. The chorus of Kibens and Rio became horrible after Afande left, so how can he not play with it.

Yep Jb is a horrible leader, he was never meant to be a leader hence why Werra surpassed him by far.

And he needs to develop a spine as well, he's been letting the old guard walk all over him for too long.

this period to be honest was not logical lol  the way he saw what they did so great is to me suspect, i hear several times that they did something on him but i was not taking it serious,if you remember in 2003 he was saying he will come with a way of singing rumbas that was different with french accent and so on,this is when he gave kibens artistic direction, and in this modern era, i dont think people will ever see an artistic director having that level of freedom, anti terro especially, most of the songs are his to start with and the rest were picked by him,jb in that period just wanted to get done with album give the fans "something as release"(you'll notice now he does the radical extreme opposite in rejecting songs brought by musicians, restarting songs over details and so on)
remember that this album was done by a man who wanted to retire and had the press ready before cancelling at last minute pretending to be sick
whenever he takes decide to take full control,he is not "that bad" but still yes clearly not as proactive competition wise as his rivals
i think that trend of giving freedom via the chefs and coming here and there to do their part was introduced by him in that part

off all anti terro only esau doleance and decision do not have kibens involvement, all the rest is either his songs or his co-work to 70 per cent,so much that he did not even get a song himself since he did not need to

Kibens, Rio, JDL and Seguin just need to f**k off at this point. They've done way too much damage to the group that it's become almost of a laughing stock.

Bro ypu are too harsh Anti Terro might not be internet but bro songs like Le Baron like Lekasopo, like BK Le Senateur both The Rhumba Part and The Sebenes are really top notch the sound quality is crazy good and I don't know the whole CD had this rich Congolese homme d'affaire vibe that I really.liked when I was 10 and the albim came out I love the album and except some song like Clin D'Oeil (Useless song) Ezau (Miziki elemba) Nungu Nungu (the idea was good but here they failed to make a Cuban Rhumba in the proper way too much lame for being a pure Cuban Rumba) Doleance (Never lobed the song) and Guy Mbuala (never liked the song) but bro J'Suis Là is pure art Aaaah Nzambe only listen to that song I feel I am more close to heaven people give Kibens hell but there he really showcased his talent in a good way

Lekasopo has also that Malian/Senegalese/Zaiko influx that almost all Genta song have

Aah ozo boya Ezau?  That song made many people cry and indirectly ended the JB - Werra beef. It had strong lyrics and song in the style of Reddy Amisi.“Botali poso ya mèmè po bo distraire publique, ayokela bino mawa, pona boyiba benedictions nga eh”. “Soki mutu aza na mbongo  Kilo Bravo, ndaku naye etondaka. Mais soki mutu ango azangi, ndaku ekomi desert, lokola mutu ayebanaki na batu te. Alors na mbetu moto ayaki, tolinganaka te hein. Bana Congo tolingana, JB, Werra,.... suka na chant. It became the 3th best song of the year behind Doleance which was n2 and Karmapa’s Amanda Duchesse.

The same for Guy Mbuala and Doleance  made people think that it about Amida. “Banda okenda ba chance na nga ebeba”.

Those BCBG songs weren’t on the level of Carré-Magique bands.  Maybe those based in Paris, London & Brussels who were trying to make music like those in Kinshasa (Jeunes Premiers, Black Story, etc.). Even songs of upcoming bands in Kinshasa were better. Songs put by the musicians of Maison Mere in A La Que Leu Leu, those of Quartier Latin in Affaire d’Etat and those of Nouvelle Ecriture in Somo Trop eat them easily. If Temperature, Le Baron and co were topnotch then music-fans would have talked about it until this day and not receiving harsh criticism when getting on market.

The sound quality is crazy good?? Are you having a laugh? Anti Terro was not a good album, even Jb himself knows it, which is why he excuses himself for postponing releases. The only good songs were Plainte A, BK le Senateur, Doléance, and all Jb songs, but the rest Naa! The sound was awful, it was the beginning of Jb’s musical downfall. The songs are forgettable, I really don’t like this album.

exactly it was a "filling" album in order just not to break the rhythm of releases especially as people were already finding 2 3 years too long, thankfully primus guys forcing him to go the best studio changed things  in the next albums before repeating the same shxx on some soyons serieux songs

We all have different tastes, personally the album I found to be boring was Internet, it was much later in 2003 when I began to like the album Internet because it was the only CD I had in my car as then I had all albums on cassette and left them in Zambia having arrived in the UK in 2002.

Anti Terro is a good album, the only songs I found unnecessary were IKolo Martyrs and Somewhere which was an instrumental.
Patty Moleso arranged Anti Terro well.
