The combo of  Tshintu, Suzuki & Modogo was giving the chorus something special. When their voices are melting to each other it likes one voice, but 3 persons with the same voice singing with each other. Their voices are so strong, making that of Bouro inaudible (which is due to Suzuki's voice). Sounds like they were made each other. I wonder how their combo would have sound on Ingratitude, Hi-Itele and Mamu .

Suzuki was really important for Quartier Latin chorus. On Droit de Veto you could feel that his voice was missing in chorus when they were trying to hit high notes, sounding like Sam Tshintu and Bouro were fighting against each and a brigde between them missing.

Maybe Eric Tutsi should have participated in Droit de Veto rather than Babia, because his voice is closer to Suzuki. There's not a lot of singers that have a nasally voice but sound so melodic like him

Hmmm interesting point. I don't know why Babia's voice isn't really audible in the chorus compared to V12, Attentat and Magie or maybe it's due to Sam Tshintu's voice. On V12, where Babia, Eric Tutsi, Suzuki and Modogo did the chorus, both Eric Tutsi and Babia stood out in the chorus along with Suzuki.



Eric Tutsi had drug-issues at that time and was often losing his voice during concerts (he even had to go to the hospital at that time) and couldn't dance compared to Babia who was able to follow the cheorography without being a big dancer. During the time that Koffi was touring in Europe with Quartier Latin for Olympia, Zenith and Droit de Veto-recordings, Eric Tutsi was spending a long time in rehab.

Really Babia was actually with Bozi Boziana. How did Babia end up with Bozi Boziana?

Babia joined Bozi Boziana, because Koffi left him behind in Kinshasa when they went on tour. He even tried to commit suicide because he didn't believe thathe wouldn't go to Europe while he was the biggest star of Quartier Latin at that moment. After spending some moments at home, Adamo who he dissed openly on tv when he was in Quartier Latin, tried to convince him to join Zaiko like Willy Bula (who was also left behind in Kinshasa by Koffi). But he refused and prefered to join Anti Choc which his favorite band like many youngsters of N'djili.

I 100% agree especially the chorus in Airways and Vicky mannn. Bouro is a good singer and is a cool and funny guy but man he would sometimes mess choruses up by freestyling and trying to stand out and sing 2 seconds late after everyone else.

Their chorus in Viagra was pretty good too with Mustapha and Eric Menthe.

like this part on Collation when they just sing with only the drums (Bazalaki eeeh!!). Suzuki is small and skinny but his voice is so strong.

So sad that Mustapha lost his head and voice on the same. He had to stay with Quartier Latin.

What kind of drugs were these boys into? I didn't think Africa had those types of problems, maybe beer.

Heroine, Cocaine and other stuff (Cocaine was also used by other QL members, who I wouldn't name, but they weren't addicted to it). Eric Tutsi came in touch with it after V12 due to those women from wealthy families who were loving him. When Quartier Latin went to Kenya, Eric Tutsi had an overdosis and almost died.

Babia came in touch with it after getting released from prison, when he was waiting in Paris for Koffi to come back with Quartier Latin, through Bana N'djili who used to sell drugs. When Academia was formed, Koffi rewarded all remaining QL-members with cars. Babia then slowly sold pieces of his cars (wheels, etc.) until that it became a wreck, just to be able to buy drugs. When he was left behind for Bercy, he spent time at markets to sing for money and buying drugs from it. His ex'wife Nicky then also became addicted which made the situation worser (if he didn't divorce from her, then he would have stayed like that). Babia sent him multiple times to the rehab, but it wasn't working, journalists would follow him often to mock him. In 2008 he was totally recovered.

Drugs is a huge problem in Africa and it's getting worser worser, because of influent politicans and elites being involved in drugtrafficking. Vice recently showed a documentary of an influent poltician in Ivory Coast who recently passed away, participating in drug-traffick in Ivory Coast.
