Yeah - a prime example was Erikson le Zulu RIP - he grew up with Celeo and co in Bandal and was in Paris for some time before settling in Abidjan and being one of the Coupé Decale pioneers. A lot of the guys Archos speaks of failed audition to join the Wenges or other famous bands

This Eto clip was sometime in 2005 - so they’re sing a lot of the lyrics from Skol Longitima. Mirage, Soleil, etc

Nowadays our artists would’ve went after the coupe decale artists for “stealing” their lyrics

Actually it is not shocking at all. It started during the late 1970s when Sam Mangwana, Nyboma, Lokassa ya Mbongo, Dizzy Mandjeku and others went to Ivory Coast to sell Congolese music there and perform there. It is not surprising to see this.
