haha i read like 3 months ago somebody saying that  as a quartier latin fan he despises her 10 times more than he hated wazekwa whereas he was insulting him in comments  in every wazekwa video he could find,but that as a koffi fan he loved her as a singer next to koffi,i guess  many people who think cindy ruined latino can think more or less the same(not as extreme of course)

I think people give Cindy too much flac. Meaning that they Blame Cindy while in reality what killer Quartier Latin was Fally and Ferrè having success in their solo project. Despite Koffi, Werra etc. Being Happy for their ex subordinates's succes, in reality most of them tried to fight their udnerstudies a lot when they First left. Werra with Ferrè and Heritier, Koffi with Fally and even JB with a Mboka Liya Who started his own band but saw JB talking every single.member by gifting them Money, trousers etc
 Koffi doesn't want a second Fally Just like Werra don't want a second Ferrè or Heritier, they are scared that if they push some of this guys hard It Will backfire on them and lode successo.

i dont get the logic in creating a band and then being afraid of the band members having success as individuals... i mean isnt that what the band leaders should want ?

That's the Western mentality. They are African people, Many African people often wants to have fully control about other people and are not happy when people are progressing or getting. You can see it in families, only one man being rich and trying to control everybody lifes in the family and sometimes even doing everything to block their life.

Another thing is that they are afraid to be forgotten. There are to many artists in Congo who had crazy succes in the 70s and 80s, but who are forgotten today and disrespected "aah tala mutu oyo asila" until they die and everybody paying tribute him, like x had a huge influence in my life, I tried to sing like him. It all started when Dr Nico and Tabu Ley decided to leave African Jazz of Grand Kallé (the first bandleader in Congolese music-history) and from African Fiesta. African Fiesta had crazy succes while Grand Kallé was totally finished and never reached the top again. From then later on bandleaders like Franco and Tabu Ley did everything to let careers of their former musicians fail.

Another good example is Papa Wemba. In private he said that he would never give a musician of Viva La Musica the opportunity to raise like King Kester Emeneya again. You know why ? Because after being for 5 years Zaire's most popular musician (1977-1982), Emeneya's popularity raised so hard after his departure from Viva LA Musica. That music-fans at some point started to compare him to Papa Wemba and even claiming that he was better than his former boss. Emeneya often humiliated Papa Wemba during fara-fara concerts, which Wemba never forgot.
When talking about fara-fara concerts, im not talking here about bands performing at the same quarter. Here I'm talking about bands performing on the same stage, to see who's the best. Maray Maray after provoking a fight in Bandal when dissing Emeneya on stage, which ​resulted in Wemba getting a smack ​and Victoria fans attacking Viva La Musica-musicians. Later on Maray Maray embarrasing Viva twice in fara-fara concerts againt Victoria. The confrontation of Wemba and Emeneya in Lubumbashi, where Emeneya won against Wemba because of his weston.
​Papa Wemba at the same time had alot difficulties in that era, which made him decided to settle in Paris. This made music-fans and journalists claim that he ran away from Emeneya's succes.
