Do nobody notice that a huge amount of tenorist were not accepted or chased away from Quartier Latin because of Jipson. It's always Jipson, Soleil or Fally. Its the 4th or 5th musician I hear saying in an interview or meeting somewhere to say of gettig a hard time in Quartier Latin because of Jipson not liking him. I was surprised to hear that even Bouro Mpela wasn't liking him. He surely got manipulated by the rest. Why was Jipson fearing competition he already cementend his position after Force de Frappe ? Guys like Willy Bula accepted Babia and Eric Tutsi and still maintained their places in their band. Quartier Latin really missed often the opportunity to get a real proper tenorist and improve the chorus, because Jipson and Lola were really ruining it when Babia and Mustafa weren't around anymore.
Bro I told you when Junior did that interview with Ado Yuhe, that Fally, Jipson and Soleil killed QL in the long run, they’re just lucky that team was so talented. Because the problem was that team after force de frappe lacked that proper authority/chief, because Sam, Depitcho and Champion weren’t around anymore. Their reign of terror really ruined things because the problem with that generation like CNN said they all cared about trying to be Koffi’s favourite whilst the previous generation didn’t care much about that.
If they accepted all those musicians maybe QL would’ve been still a thing today because like you said Willy Bula accepted Babia, Sam, Eric Tutsi and Bouro and they were still there after he left now imagine if he and the others didn’t accept those guys, what would’ve happened.
I’d even say every band after 1999 cared more about being the bosses favourites even the Maison Mère dream team used to fight over being Werra’s favourite same thing with BCBG.
