he is asked about the fact he is known in the industry as complicated and too different,and he says he does not like to do exactly what others do,because he is not in competition with anybody its when you are in competition that you will think that you have to do x y z to react to the other one doing something,and constantly doing things to prove a point
he also used the example of michael jackson who had a very fast flowing and eventful career for most of his life  but lived and died deeply unhappy for large parts of his life and he says he does not want to be enslaved to success and do things even if you dont feel it just for the sake of a certain pride and ego,which at the end of day will just end up being history at some point
he prefers to live a life focused on whats make him happy first,which is to live his normal life then give music when he is up for it  and fully focused

It's fine for him to look at music like that especially that he is now 53. He is way past the impact age.
