On which criterion did ACMCO vote Couvre Feu as best album of the year 1998 above Loi ? Was it a way by journalists who were pro-Wemba to punish Koffi for the way he mocked him in the VHS Qui dit Vraie? Or were most journalist blind due to the crazy succes Couvre Feu had in Kinshasa.

Because the quality of Couvre Feu is really bad and you can’t compare the arrangement of songs Philipe Guez & Maïka Munan in Loi to that of Couvre Feu. The same about poetic lyrics the songs like Iténéraire, Airways and Phaseur has. There are even songs that made people emotional and cry. Even Nouvelle Ecriture’s album ‘L is better than Couvre Feu.

One thing is sure about Couvre Feu, is that Mr Ndiaye was really happy for the money he made. He sold a lot of audio cassette and scammed Marie Paul. Due to blunders Marie Paul was making in interviews, he knew that he could manipulate him easily. Instead of signing the contract along with Manda Chante. He invited Marie Paul secretly at his office and made him believe that he would give him 800.000 dollars. Marie Paul not reading the contract well and not seeing at Ndiaye put a , between the zeros. Signing for 8000.00 and not 800.000. It’s only when he arrived him home that he realized it lol. Marie Paul being in trouble and not able to explain to Manda Chante & Dello Bass why where the money is and why he just received 8.000

the awards guys had funny criteria at times, some awards went to people just because the real winner was on tour abroad or did not want to come,or about rivalry of their favourite artists,i remember once at ndule awards the guys almost fought physically about the choice of whether they give best song to maboko pamba or deliberation
