This album has good sebenes. Bello Bongo really adapted himself to the ndombolo-era. The sebenes he played are pure ndombolo. You can feel that the Feux de l'Amour-album and Pentagone had a big influence. Many guitarists started to play like this. Clan Wenge-fanatics always like to taunt Koffi for copying their sebene. But I think that these sebenes come closer to it than that of Quartier Latin who are of a different style in my opinion.

You are right the album had good sebenes I realised that Bello did not use distortion on the guitars he kept it clean.

Who is animating the first Animateur seems like a baby voice, tbh I never understood why Bozi Boziana is so underrated ifmyou compare him to other big Congolese legend, I mean he is not Franco nor Tabu but even Defao for example gets way more respect than hum

No, people respect Bozi Boziana more than Defao. He has a longer career than him and a bigger name. The problem is with Bozi is that he doesn’t make alot noise in the media while Congolese people only to people who talk. Like for example, people were not forgetting Emeneya because he kept doing interview to talk about Wemba & Koffi and doing polemic. If you look well. Bozi has even more hits on his name than Emeneya. But the impact of Emeneya in his prime (1982-1987) and Viva la Musica was so huge that people put Vieux Kes above Bozi, not even mentioning his impact as singer that influenced many, his influence as sapeur and the huge events in his career (Zénith, Olympia, Palais du Peuple & Stade des Martyrs). Also Bozi left the spotlights long time ago from the early 2000s

Défao is not a small artist. But the things that Bozi in our music is more than that of Defao. He made many stars (Deese Mukangi, Ngouma Lokito, late Wally Ngonda, late Fifi Mofude, Dodoli, Scola Miel, Djonolo, Koffi Alibaba, Lapino, Betty Biss, Deo Brando, Micha Brown, Polystar Coreen, etc.) the list is very long. He has a long career with Zaïko (1973-1974/1977-1981), being the co-founder of short lived Isifi Lokole with Evoloko Lay, Papa Wemba and late Mavuela Somo, being co-founder of short lived Yoka Lokola with Papa Wemba and Mavuela and among stars of Langa Langa Stars.  Bozi used to be the main star of Choc Stars until he got fired by Ben Nyamabo and had Kinshasa for 5 years in his pocked as most popular star after founding Anti Choc having crazy succes. Next to it, Bozi is  the first one who introduced sapeur Stervos Niarcos in the music-world. Starting to sing songs Stervos used to write and giving him shout-outs before that Wemba would take his name to a bigger dimension. Bozi is also the artist that made many female singers known which is rare in Congolese music.

Bello Bongo "aka Bolo" was really talented. Its only now that I'm discovering him. Its sad that his name isn't really known. I just  heard that he was the solist who played lead on the tracks late Ocean did for the fara-fara compilations.

His guitar work is really short, meaning there is not enough albums he featured on I think he played on the "Mbanzi Ya Gamundele" album I believe and played Position Eyebani.

Its a shame. The list of talented guitarist in big bands without a big name must be very long. I wonder why I didn’t participate as solist in Les Refoules Schengen (1997)  although being present during the tour, Bozi just preferring Nene Tchakou (RIP) and Rigo Star

Btw you know what the title of song is that they performed after Ma Raison d'Etre (third song) from 16:15 min ?  He played a part of the sebene (21:36 min) in Raid for Ocean but on a slow way. The way he played Ma Raison d´Etre in this concert was magic totally different from the album version.




I first always thought it was Burkina Faso playing in that concert at studio maman ngebi cause the haircut, his face not really being visible, his style of playing at that time being close to that of Burkina and at that some point also using Burkina's signature of the Kalayi Boeing-days that Fi-carre used in Cresois.

I don't know why he did not participated on the album "Les Refoules De Schegen" but my guess is that Bello was probably left behind in Kinshasa during the studio recordings of the "Les Refoules de Schengen" it makes sense because Bozi only bought Deo Brondo, Janvier and Betty Bis hence why Bozi called Nene Tchakou (RIP) and Rigo Star.

I think Bozi came back to Kinshasa to get the rest of the band members to complete that probably explains why Bello was present on the video clip of Les Refoules De Schengen and also present for the Bana Saint Gabriel album but that's my guess.

I totally forgot about that concert at Studio Maman Ngebi Bello did performed the song Ma Raison d'Etre.

   On the actual song Film Ebaluki who’s singing from 3:18-3:33 he sounds exactly like Dinara from WMMM

It dont know who Dinara is because of not following Maison Mere anymore since Fleche Ingeta. But it must be either late Seidou or Kapens, because Michaux Chamberton and Lokombe "Loko Succes" dont sing like that. At that time Bongo Bello already left and Polystar Coreen being lead guitarist of Anti Choc
