It's crazy to think that all of this started from Popolipo recording a solo album. Koffi wes a lot to him, because Beniko trained Felly Tyson and Lebou Kabuya to improve as professional musicians.

I thought you said Papa Wemba had a bad reputation in the last years of his life because of his behavior? I miss his music, but I heard he too was a difficult personality as well.

Koffi seems to have a very bad character, he's had off and on again friendships with Werrasom, JB Mpiana, Felix Wazekwa, ect. Does he have complex about people being successful? Or is he overly defensive because he had a difficult time during the beginning of his career. Sometimes success can make people cold hearted, especially if they fought hard for success with little help

Yes, his reputation got damaged. However, in his interviews you would always feel a certain maturity and journalists because of that not really having the energy to ask polemic questions and when they were asked he would often/always trying to pass them or react in a mature way with people often not noticing that he threw a shot. It went wrong only once when he said that Emeneya’s ex’wife used to be his sidechick before Kester knowing her. He said that because he had enough after being attacked by Emeneya for years and him not reacting.

Papa Wemba and his Viva La Musica who backed him for his singles in 1978 and 1979, Pepe Felly Manuaku of Zaiko Langa Langa who used to play lead on multiple singles recorded in late 70s with Djuna Djanana and Bozi Boziana doing the chorus, Langa Langa Stars when he tried to re-launch his music-career in 1982, Debaba who helped him upgrading his way of singing and later founding Historia Musica with Koffi in 1983. He’s right what he said about Fally but he’s contradicting himself and focusing too much on Fally because he has musicians of his own.
If we think about it in the 5th generation only Fabregas has produced an artistic child which is But Na Filet.
Ferre hasn’t produced an artistic child yet, Koffi has many talented singers in his band he needs to focus on promoting them so they can have a possible future solo career and then give him artistic grandchildren that he wants, Jr 33 (who people were calling the new Fally), Eric 4sim, and even omba could have good careers ahead of them if they’re marketed right. He needs to work on the quartier latin album next and that can open doors for them.

Ive got a question for you guys, I’m seeing some people arguing about Prince Babia being the heir of Quartier Latin and he should be considered Koffi’s grandchildren because apart from being Babia Ndonga’s son he sings QL songs and sings his dads vocals and also Fallys taken him under his wing along with Sam and the rest of the QL alumni, so should we consider him a “koko” or dernier fils?

I would consider him as a dernier fils if he take his music seriously by providing great quality work

i i am split on it his time without singing close to fally sam and co is bigger than his time under their mentorship,he spent more time with heritier and kisindjora and alone trying to record something until he got taken to competition
but then he is the first children of the whole 4th generation to have made it into professional career so its also a symbol but i think people will not give it to him as he  never was directly linked with quartier latin or passed by a quartier latin leader to be known
its like junior mpiana he happens to be jb's son but he has no link whatsoever with bcbg so even if his hip hop  started shines people would still be giving jb stick for not having succesful children,i dont know if you see what i mean,prince is closer because he is almost a clone of his dad but the fact that if not for his mother and her shenaningans he'd still be in team wata the question would not even be present(the song difference from mi ange mi demon was meant to be his duet with heritier)

That’s not necessarily true. He was with Heritier for less than a year, and he’s been under Fally Sam and co for nearly 4 years now.
You can’t really compare him to Junior Mpiana cause Prince does rhumba and junior doesn’t. Prince needs to form his own group, if he has the backing of Koffi and the QL alumni he can do well. I’d say he can be the dernier fils because he always sings ql songs and even he said he wants to be the heir to that throne, he just needs to work for it. Or he can do maybe 6 months in the group to gain experience and then go back to being a solo artist
