I dont think that Pathy Bass will be happy the way Sam Tshintu said that Binda Bass came before him. Sam surely forgot about that. Musicians are often sensitive about stories of x or y having joined the band earlier. Until this day Pathy feels that he didn't receive enough credit for his work in Quartier Latin. He came to replace Augusto Nsingi who ran away in Europe and after V12 he became at some point the main bassplayer, because Koffi wasn't liking Rocky Blanchard anymore after discovering that he had an affair with a dancer. Pathy Bass started to play bass the most in concerts and being there on every trip to an African country but Binda Bass being the one who got picked for the trip to Europe for Ultimatum while he came way later than him. Binda Bass always getting praised by Koffi and appearing clips, but Pathy not getting any praise although his hard work.
I think Binda got more attention because of his looks, because Pathy played bass better than him. But at least Koffi gave him a song on Droit de Veto, I'm surprised Binda didn't join Academia after being left behind during Attentat recordings in South Africa
Binda was favoured because he has family relations to Koffi. Lol the same Pathy Bass that most likely blocked Rocky Blanchard to join Academia would’ve never let binda join them, since he was already angered that he was favoured over him.
Plus it wasn’t that easy to just leave kin to join the Academia guys in Europe, Mboshi was just extremely lucky to get on the plane thanks to help from Papa Wemba and others otherwise he’d have been blocked in Kinshasa due to Koffi pulling a lot of strings, it would’ve been the same with Binda.
