The thing with Apocalyps was that people influenced him to stay in Europe. He was scared when hearing stories about how Koffi treated Mboshi in Kinshasa when coming back from Olympia/Zenith. People were saying to him that he would get the same treatment once returning to Kinshasa because of animating for Fally's album Droit Chemin.

I forgot, was there a reason Koffi didn't participate on that album? I found it weird because they played parts of the Droit Chemin generique in some of those 06 Europe concerts, and he sorta let fally promote the album as well.

Camionette Bola who used to bodyguard of several artists said that Koffi was about to participate. But knowning that Koffi had bad intentions and how the collaboration of him with Reddy went in Etoile, made him influence Fally not to let Koffi participate on Droit Chemin. This all made Modogo do Koffi's part in Prince of Southforck. Koffi would for years think that it was David Monsoh who influenced Fally to not let him participate because of having problems with him from the moment Monde Arabe came out where he had to song Riziki that created serious problems for both guys in Ivory Coast.

Behind the scenes Koffi was from the start doing everything to block Droit Chemin's recording and also the release of it. For example, Somina Nadim was meant to produce the album but Koffi sended his guys to threaten him. Somina who had  Koffi still on contract and dreaming about getting BEK in the future then decided to quit the project. This made David Monsoh getting the project. For months, Fally would hide the name of the producer for Koffi. When Koffi finally discovered about David Monsoh being the producer he was furious. He tried to block the release of the album sueing the recordlabel and made his advocate write a letter that David Monsoh could not let Fally release his album because of having a contract with Quartier Latin. This delayed the release of Droit Chemin with 1 month. The album ended up by getting released because on paper it was Kiki Touré who producer (they did that on purpuse knowing that Koffi would probably sue them). They would use the same strategy when releasing Arsenal des Belles Melodie.

Congolese lead guitarist often tend to play sebene that will come in future albums. Those who didn't participate to Droit Chemin didn't knew that it would end up in that album. Apart the concert at Elysee Montmarte that they did without Fally and the one in Brussels of Bouya Mayola, the rest were of the concerts were all done before the release of Droit Chemin. Droit Chemin came out when the tour almost came on the end. Felly Tyson himself was already planning to stay in Europe. Binda Bass was also about to stay but he changed his mind on the last minute.

Koffi let Fally sing Liputa at the concert they did in Brussels of Bouya Mayola. But the band wasn't able to perform it well. It had mixed reactions. Back then the album was not a succes yet. Some people that attended the concert  saying that Fally didn't had to release an album and that Koffi ridiculized him.

Its always strange to hear how bandleader try to get ride of keymembers but crying when they leave just before they activate their plan.

There are people who say that Koffi accepted Fally to do record his solo-album to not lose him to Wenge Maison Mère and that Fally was approached by people from Maison Mere to join them as revenge for the way Koffi recruited Ferre. There used to be an interview of Alvarito on youtube, saying that Fally didn't even had 5 songs when preparing Droit Chemin and that the interview made with Naty Lokole to announce Droit Chemin was just to piss Koffi off and get fired because of not being happy the way he made Ferre the main star of Quartier Latin.

The background story off all drama was that Koffi went with Ferre Gola (later joined by Soleil) to Europe for concerts which frustrated all QL-members especially Fally Ipupa. As reaction Fally came on tv to say that Koffi autorized him to record a solo-album (which wasn't true). According to guys like Soleil and somebody of his staff (I dont remember who it was) who were with Koffi in Europe at that moment recording Si Si Silivi, Koffi was really furious in the studio and was about to fire Fally. But when calming down and thinking  well the situation, he interpreted is as a trap from Fally to get sympathy from the public when getting fired. So he acted like he gave Fally the freedom to record an album and thinking in meantime about how to get rid of Fally.

When coming back from Europe Koffi made all members vote about if Fally had to do an album or not. Many musicians were afraid and just 2 musicians voted in Fally's favour (just Montana and another one). Although the majority voting against, Koffi still gave greenlight (I guess that Koffi thought that the vote would work against him and lead a new Academia, knowing that are were tensions in the band since a few years).

peaceful departure barely exists in our music,either before or during or shortly after something kicks in
the latest example is but na filet who openly went to inform of his departure and who got "public good luck"then by month later it turned into him having to fake  that its still all good with his ex leader fabregas until it really exploded

At the same time, people like Junior, Soleil, and surprisingly Jypson didn't help Fally but they left QL by the time Danger de Mort came out. Did all of them want to go solo or did people talk them into leaving as well in response to Droit Chemin?

We will never know. Binda Bass is Koffi's favorite. Koffi was about to make him the new chef d'orchestre when Fally left but he refused and Titina getting that role who would leave not long after that. Champion was not really an official member when he returned. Koffi needed Champion for concerts in Europe, because he wanted a back-up drummer for Titina during that tour. So instead of bringing Tshe-Tshe le Balle he called Champion. He would call Champion again for Zenith 2007 & 2009 and the small tour the did towards the end 2007.

According Junior & Jipson themselves in interview, they said that they left because they felt that QL would disband. But if I remember well back in 2006 several articles were posted saying that Koffi asked some members to stay in Europe to get papers because of not wanting to apply for visa's again and just to get 3/4 kinshasa based musicians from the next tour.

Soleil also wanted to stay in Europe. But he got deported because of not being able to explain some questions about his passeport after getting arrested by the Belgian police. He ended up by leaving in Spring 2007 because of getting suspended when Koffi suspected that he was preparing a solo album. Bouro Mpela who just returned also left that way. A journalist asking him if he isn't preparing an album, him replying by yes, but that he would talk with Koffi first about that project. As reaction Bouro received a suspension letter and Bouro immediatly leaving. The same story for Modogo. If I remember well just after the release of Droit Chemin Koffi made an interview with Deblaison Wanga and said that all QL-member that would come with a solo-album, would immediatly be fired from Quartier Latin.

Danger de Mort came out some months after that Quartier Latin returned. At the same time Koffi was already busy with promoting Les Mineurs de Quartier Latin. All these departures are also one of the reasons why the album flopped at that time. Because apart Soleil, Montana & Shella Mputu there was nobody to promote their own songs on tv-channels in Kinshasa. Shella Mputu had bad luck that his song was banned from television because of a politician dating his ex'wife. The remaining musicians Binda Bass & Nseka already never pass on tv for interviews. The songs that had to carry the album were done by those left to form their own band (Ferre Gola & Fally Ipupa). The majority of the press was also in Fally's camp so they did every thing to make the album look bad. At the same time Droit Chemin had crazy in Kinshasa and in the same period Fally had a small Europe tour with session musicians (Ramazani, Moleso, Apocalyps, Champion, etc.) with Koffi public being behind and Danger de Mort not having any space. Plus Koffi himself releasing a new single not even 3 months after Danger de Mort's release. Executive Producer Sonima suing him, them already having a conflict about Somina suspecting Koffi about being behind selling piracy cds.

I remember there were rumours that Fally, Junior, Jordan Kusa, Jypson, Kerozene, CNN, and Apocalypse were all gonna team up to record an album together in 2007 but it never happened. It came after Junior, Jordan, and Kerozene visited Fally at one of his first concerts with Apocalypse and Champion.

The producers probably didn't had enough money to finance the project. Those bands never last long. It would have been a big mistake if Fally accepted it.

i remember jordan with that big voice of his repeating "mokolo moko akokufa na tension" to which dicap was trying his best to play it down which today i am not so sure that.... lol

Fally would end up like Sam Tshintu if he started doing polemic against Koffi and reacting to his provocations. There are some people who said that he was ready but the staff around him calming him down and advising him to not do so. Especially when Koffi made fun about how he lost his parents and threaten him with the death in Diabolos. Most who are around him, used to be with Koffi (Alain Nzambé, Eddy Badiata, Maitre B-52 Balondo, etc.)

Fally relied the first 3 years of his solo-career in Europe on the public of Quartier Latin, after Arsenal des Belles Melodies he started to get slowly his own public and the new generation born in Europe starting to get intrested in his music because of the way he was having featerings with Krys, Olivia, Mokobé and co. them automatically becoming his fans and replacing the old guard who became older. But sadly not long after that the concert-ban starting.

There were just 3 bandmembers (Bill, Ferre & JDT) that left to form another band. But their departure felt like the half of the band left. The MM-camp recruiting plenty of guitarists, atalaku's, singers and dancers (most of them not getting a proper chance and getting on stage).

Its crazy how Werrason used to pull big crowds and now the majority of these people who are still alive today denying that they used to be his fans in the past or saying that they dont understand why they were liking his music in bars/restaurants and making fun of Werrason. Its not even 10 years ago that if you would attack Werrason on social media that you would get a big army of fans behind your back.
