Why isn't there a full footage of the whole festival ? Bralima is really losing it last years. Bracongo is hitting them hard with their product "Nkoyi". Today more artists perform concerts who are sponsored by Nkoyi than Primus. Looks like Nkoyi now being the main product of Bracongo and not Skol anymore like way it used to be from the 1970s till the 2000s
Tbh what do these been get from paying musicians? I mean Congo is still one of the poorest country in the world and aside from notorietà I don't see them making profitto in anyway, plus they paid almost everybody Fally, Zaiko, Werra, Koffi, Ferre, Bill and Werra with Skol also Roga Roga like all those money for what? I don't really of people saying let me buy a primus been or having a Primus beer in their home other t'ha that occasional picture of diasporans? And what is Nkoyi? Also Skol, like what do they gain from paying musicians this much?
Being one of the poorest country in the world doesn't mean that nobody is able to pay food or drinks. I dont know ifyou ever have been in Kinshasa, but bars are everyday full of people and trucks that are loaded by beer riding everywhere. When people aren't able to buy Primus, Skol, Nkoyi, Tembo, Doppel, Castel Beer, Turbo King, etc. they will always through places to praise people "aah docta, aah grand pretre, mvuama" to get some money and then buy it or call their family in Europe to lie that someone is sick or a child to being able to do exams because of lack of money and after receiving the money, spending it in bars. Bracongo and Bralima dont only produce beer, they also make normals drinks like Top, XXL enegry drink (that is often showed in the background of Papy Mboma' how), Vitalo etc. So they can even make money with people who are religious or who dont drink alcohol.
Nkoyi is just beer
Churches being everywhere (often 4 in one street) there are also bars everywhere, which causes alot of noise in quarters because they continue until the night. Sometimes I wonder how people are able to sleep and youngsters being able to study with such of noise.
This is the reasons why combatants and some opposition politicians said that Bralima and Bracongo must be blocked, because in their opinion they contribute to the destruction of Congo and commercials about beer being everywhere even in elementary schools. Bralima and Bracongo make alot of profit in Congo and one of the rare of companies that still exists in DR Congo for decennia, while most companies disappeared after the lootings of 1991.
Today music in Congo doesn't have the same impact anymore on public like back in the days. But back in the days it was. A good example is how Bracongo being decennia long the market leader in Zaire/Congo and once Werrason left them to join Bralima, Bracongo losing their place in no time and Bralima going from 32% to 70% within 4 years.
In some of those concerts sponsored by the beer-companies the entrance-fee would be two-bottles of Primus or Skol. With the attendance of 100.000 in some of those concerts they would gain alot of money. It was mostly about which beer company being the biggest in x or y area. Like for example in 2007, the way the bosses of Bralima being happy about how Werrason managed to get a big public in Bumbu after Bill Clinton Kalonji having performed over there for Bracongo with a huge crowd. Them saying that they re-gained control over the area.
In those concerts in Fikin at Village Bracongo or Vilage Bralima, those companies would gain alot of money because the attendance going sometimes till 150.000 and people buying their products because you had stands next to it where the drinks were sold.
