he talks with mbuta likasu about how zaiko was created
hahahaha gina wa gina coming to the group and testing people then saying that himself joins the band because their level is good
everytime somebody talks about gina,i always think about kester, the way kes used to praise him so much, i think him with gina,jb with wemba, wemba with tabuley are among those big artists who have had such a strong open admiration for their idol, many liked artists but were too proud to really show how deep their love was for them

lol, Vieux Delo aza bandit. The stories about him lying to have bought instruments in Belgium, him not paying the taxi-driver, him pretending to be a diplomat in bus and that of him running for his life after cutting the power during the fara-fara of zaiko against tabou-national all killed me.

Zaiko’s supremacy made from 1973, made historians and journalists minimize the Thu-Zahina revolution and their contribution to our music for the young generation of that time (aka 3eme generation). Even history books about our music, gives them less credit, making them look like they were special and popular from day 1 well it took them years.
However, its nice to see that in the recent years to see them slowly being recognized, even by former Zaiko-members.

Marcellin Delo’s version about the foundation of Zaiko is totally different from that of late DV Moanda’s interviews, that of Papa Wemba and Pepe Felly Manuaku. I don’t know who to believe, but those of the three similar along with that of Nyoka Longo compared to that of Marcellin Delo. Bon, dieu seul sait. The story about the case of DV Moanda/Zaiko against Pepe Felly Manuaku for the name Zaiko, that Manuaku was using for Grand Zaiko Wawa is interested. I wonder why Zaiko Familia Dei then didn’t contact them Marcelin Delo to use him in the case they had against Nyoka Longo in 1988, having already DV Moanda’s family on their side, but them not having the papers that Nyoka Longo had. Its would be better if Marcelin Delo would bring those statues-papers in part 2.

Its crazy to hear that even musicians like Biko Star and Emile Soki did their test in Zaiko, but all being refused. I’m surprised to hear that Nyoka Longo is actually from Barumbu and that the death of his dad, made him live in Ndjili quartier 13 since 1967. I always thought that used to live in N’djili from day 1. late Mavuela was lucky to have lied that he was from Bandal instead of Selembao. They are laughing about how many musicians that got refused by Papa Wemba and Gege Mangaya from coming x or y quarter/area. But in reality its sad. I wonder if those discriminations of coming/living in x or y areas, is still being a big thing in Kinshasa like back in the days. Today you have kuluna everywhere. Altough some areas/quarters being difficult to reach by car and having to enter it with a motorcycle or jeep, there are some areas/quarters that are better on this moment than some that are built before 1960.

The story about how Gina Efonge did his test in Zaiko was funny. Its the first time after Manuaku that I heard someone saying that Gina Efonge came with something different in Zaiko. Often its only Gina Efonge himself always saying it or former Zaiko-fans and Emeneya when he was alive. Zaiko-musicians often tends to ignore his contribution in the band and minimize him, acting like he didn’t do anything in Zaiko. But, history always proves them wrong. Those who are in Evoloko-camp, always give Gina Efonge the credit for having created Isifi within Zaiko. Apparently its Gina Efonge who coached Evoloko to become the artist that would become and that behavior of ignoring people, not giving them a hand, etc.

I was surprised to hear that Nyoka Longo was part of Isifi that Gina Efonge within Zaiko. But him not lasting because of not smoking weed and Papa Wemba replacing him in no time. I think that the story about Papa Wemba being in reality born in 1947 that many people from Matonge and Yolo of their generation say being true. Here Marcelin saying Wemba confirming that Wemba lowered his age. Him saying that he’s from 1948 instead of 1949.
