Koffi is a maestro of re-inventing himself and staying relevant. Nobody wants to watch an old man singing solo, Cindy is a breath of youth and freshness. This man is still good for another 20 years.
What amazes me the most is his work ethics and consistency, 5 decades and this man is pumping out albums and singles. Name me one artist from his era (80's) that is still relevant ?.
I have ti agree with you, people give flack to Koffi but tbh even if Zaiko have a very consistente strong Congolese fanbase, they are nowhere near the level of Koffi has in terms of influence in Africa.
With this I don't mean that Zaiko are trash or aren't probably they biggest Congolese music group for many reason, is just that different people have different needs and Koffi much like Drake is the master of jumping on new trend which will make him a lot hated by his core fans of the TchaTcho/V12 era, but makes him known from other people, I had my ex Tunisiann Girlfriend knew if I knew Monde Arabe, by Koffi and she has no idea of Congolese music very Arab too
