For those who do not know Manuaku Waku. Manuaku Waku is along with Papa Wemba the first official recruited member of Zaiko. He is also reponsible for the way guitarists play sebene today, some music-fans even attribute him the title of 'the creator of sebene', some see him as underated for all the work he had done in Zaiko and Grand Zaiko as lead guitarist.
When I saw that MusiqueZaroise uploaded this album, I was surprised, because I wasn't aware that Manuaku released an old in that period. It also brought me immediatly back to an interview he did shortly after Wemba's death, saying that Wemba motivated him to re-start playing music. Because when settling in Switserland back in 1990, he didn't had the desire anymore to play music (because of the things he experienced with Grand Zaiko Wawa. Some people even mock him about being the first bandleader to run away in Europe, before his own musicians, when he came with them to Europe in 1990). It was Wemba who wondered how he was doing and contacted him to participate to the album Pole Position, where he played on Soul Gbemani and Toutou Kamuke.
