Did Awilo Longomba and La Nouvelle Generation not get problems with Okito Mukanga for using the same rhythm and the same way of singing (although them singing about something different and in Lingala while the original song being in Otetela), for the song Porokondo. Or did Okito not mind since that it is folkloric song (Batetela) ?

Porokondo of Nouvelle Generation

Here the remix version of Okipole (the original version dates back from the 1970s)

From 18:48 min Okito Mukanga singing it live. During a festival back in 1980 which dedicate to “Bokolo Mizki” legends who used to do music in the 1940s, 1950s & 1960s

The original version
In one if the interviews Collegien did with Teddy, he said that Awilo had a vinyl that, that used to play often on the radio when they were young. And when playing the vinyl Awilo asked if he could play like that, which also happened. In some interviews Awilo said that he is a huge when of old music from the 1950 and 1960s. In an interview with he did with Papa Rolls back in 2009, you could hear those old Ok Jazz songs of 1960s on the background. On his first he made some remixes of the songs his dad Vicky Longomba recorded with Lovy du Zaïre.
