After talking with Mukulu, I really wonder how it would have been if Bouro Mpela joined Wenge BCBG in 2000 after leaving Academia instead of rejoining Quartier Latin.

Let’s be honest he dodged a bullet by not joining BCBG. The only cool thing would’ve been to see him and Alain in the same band but other then that he dodged a bullet.

Yes, but with Koffi, he didn’t dodge the bullet. Between the comparisons with Fally and coming back after Academia, it was tough—he faced a lot of mockery, even though he was one of the most talented of his generation. His second, third, and fourth stints didn’t bring much except for the success of the song Calvaire.

And I can’t see him fitting in with Maison Mère from that era—it was too much of a jungle for him

Naa when he came back with Koffi he was even a bigger star then he was in his first stint. I remember when it was Quartier Latin’s 14 anniversary concert at GHK the public kept requesting him to do his solo dance and they wouldn’t let him leave the stage and he was getting showered with money lol. The only thing was him in the force de frappe clip came out the way he was dancing in the clip everyone was like wtf is wrong with him cause he was too wild in that clip loool.

I think him and Fally brought out the best in each other in the group and it was a good balance between the group. Bouro is too crazy for clan wenge loool no one can handle him. If he was in maison mère there would’ve been constant fights between him, Bill and JDT who are on the same level of craziness as him and Bcbg lorddd they definitely wouldn’t have been able to control him.

But one thing about him that everyone says is he never really bullied newcomers he’s the only one that was always nice to the new musicians that joined the group and was always giving his mic to a new singer.

Yes, among Koffi's fans, he was very well received, I agree.

But he was quite harsh against Koffi, and seeing him a year later with those aggressive dances in Force de Frappe, or when he was speaking while dancing in effrakata, people were saying that Koffi had cursed him.

Yes, with Maison Mère, he would have already been beaten up, lol. He wouldn’t have handled the 12

I think in BCBG, he would have been favored, knowing that JB is his « vieux »

Yeah literally in the force de frappe clips I honestly thought he lost his mind loool

Yeah Jb might’ve favoured him but after Internet was released  BCBG went into more a rhumba slow paced sebene I don’t think his style of dancing would’ve suited because like you said his dancing was too aggressive and also I just can’t see him fitting well with the team of Kibens, Rio, Chai, Mukena, JDL and Bikou Le brun, he might’ve been more suited with PPU who were more his age mates.

Loool don’t underestimate Bouro he isn’t a soft guy he’s not the type that you could just beat up like that, he once threatened to beat up Fally during an argument and even once during a concert he was arguing with Jipson and even silenced him.
