Imagine if Quartier Latin of the 1990s had social media, the success from group albums and concerts would go to young member's heads very quickly. With direct access to fans through Facebook or Instagram, maybe Babia, Fally, and Sam would have left a lot sooner.

Why wouldn't Academia happen sooner?  Had people who like them know where to communicate with them directly and pay them, they have a financial safety net that makes them less beholden to Koffi and if they fall out with him then they can go online and shop for a producer. Same with Fally, he accomplished a whole lot by Effrakata. Just imagine if he was online? With the fallout between David Monsoh and Koffi, he could have been poached for a solo career as early as 2003/4.

It just seems like the old style of promoting musicians as household names in the era of social media creates a battle for sovereignty btw musicians and leaders. So much so that groups are unstable after the first group albums success
