I’ve listened to the album and I would like to know the history of the album in terms of where it was recorded mixed and mastered… it doesn’t sound like it was done with digital drumming like jyp kyss in Ndiyae. The sound is amazing in cle boa, bendele.

This is a great question. I believe that Titiana Al Capone left the group. It had be recorded in Kinshasa but it had to be mastered in Paris.

Sebene songs and generiques are mostly recorded live. Which was also the case with Cle Boa and Bendele, Tshe-The le Balle played the drums all by himself through the song. For example Lovemycine where he asked help from Luciana and co. Koffi also invited Olivier Tshimanga, Pathy Moleso, Philippe Guez and Flavien Makabi in Europe to add some partitions to songs recorded in Kinshasa and to fully record the remaining songs in Europe.

Koffi started the songs as prerecordings at his house in Mont-Fleury to continue it in Ndiaye.

Bla Bla Bla was meant to be the main generique. But there was no place on cd1 nor cd2 because of some rumbas being 12 minutes long. Since that many people already heard the alternate version which leaked already somewhere in January ‘08 on skyblog while the album getting released 7 months later after long delays, Koffi decided to release it as bonus on the dvd-version.

For many it was seen as 12 towards Gessac. Because Bendele which was the second generique was released as last song on cd2. When being asked about it to different journalists. He said that he wasn’t interested in noise anymore and that he left that stuff to Ivorian artists, also that a real artist should sing and to be comfortable to let atalaku’s do all the work and on the end take all the credits

Is it true that the generique is often recorded last? Typically, the rhumbas and sebenes are recorded first?

yes, because often new dances and cri's appear last minute and bands/artists don't want them to miss out on the album, which why they record it as last.

I'm guessing that's the last Koffi album that you've listened from start to finish. You don't really say much about albums he's released since 2009, just a couple songs from each project. I don't blame you because I remember he had a triple album. There was one album that Koffi was just satisfying customers, idk why he thought it was ok to have that many for an album lol

The last album from Koffi that I listened from the start to the finish was Abacadabra. It was also his last huge succes. I think the way the pre-version got leaked on internet by combattants, also helped alot with the promotion of the album. People then buying 1 month later, the album or piracy version of it, to compare it. It's unbelieveble that it is already 13 years ago. On that album you could feel that he was on his end and the way he was using Cindy was annoying. The participation of Quartier Latin and Les Mikwapens was too minor. Altough the succes, I remember people saying that it was time for Cindy to leave and that she killed Quartier Latin. About killing Quartier Latin, people already started saying from Skol Mandramanda.

The album was  monotonous because of the amount of songs and the way it was arranged (23 or 24 tracks as leaked version/20 songs on the album version). Apart the generiques, Etoile d'Etat and Mosisi, I haven't heard the remaining songs on the radio, bars or parties for years. While the year it came out, you would hear songs like Emballe Moi, 12eme Dan, Balancoire, Desormais, Je t'Aime, Double Mbonda, Cheval and La Foudre everywhere

The album satisfying customers was 13ème Apotre, because saying that it was his "last album", many people wanted to have a song on it. I think just after Cindy's album 6-6-6, he proudly said that he would be the first Congolese artist to release an album of 3 cd's. Werrason who saw heard it and who had always a huge demand of song-customers, stole his idea and then released Fleche Ingeta with 3 cd's. It made Koffi mad and since that people kept coming for songs, he decided to release 13ème Apotre with 4 cd's (39 tracks).

Seeing the tracklist of 39 songs, not liking Cindy anymore and knowing how Abacadabra was, discouraged me to listen to the album. I kept postponing it. People at that time used to call it "album ya ba chomeurs" and that no one would have the time to listen to it hahahahaha. I was thinking that the album would become a hit after a few weeks and waiting for people to say that x or y song was great and to hear songs at wedding, so that I could look them up instead of having to listen the whole album, Cindy's voice. But the album the ended up by flopping. Until this day I haven't listened to any song. I have only listened to the generiques. I listened once to the song Cobetox, when the beef with Ferre started. But now you said I will try to do it next week. Until this day, I wondered what happened to the generique he recorded with Fabregas. Because Koffi said that he recorded one with him and that people will happy about the way he did the "Bela-Bela" animation
