The huge amount of street-bands and talents was crazy back in the days. It gave me nostalgic vibes. Also the way how he witnessed the way SVP La Gamme of Shulay, Didier Lacoste and Shella Mputu got created in Yolo, his past in Taz Junior with Japonais Maladi, etc. I was surprised to hear that Rene Lokua (the gospel singer) was Pompom’s guitarist in Anti-Volcan and Kaclo of Pesa Munu Passage being his drummer, also that he used to live on the same street of Lokua Kanza’s family in Ngaba after running away from his parents house in Lemba. Now I wonder if the Anti-Volcan in Paris that had Olivier Kalabasi, Mike Evian, Hugue Soki and Mike Diapason as bandmember was created by an elder in Europe that was part of the one in Kinshasa. It would have been great if Pompom stayed in Big Stars alongside Montana and late Djodjo Bayinge

The part where Pompom Miyake talked about doing his test in Quartier Latin by singing Djino killed me, it made me remind of an interview Papy Mboma saying to him, how Koffi would ever like him by having a singing-voice like Papa Wemba hahaha. Why has he never though about doing a Pompom chante Koffi, that would because be Wemba chante Koffi hahahaha.

When closing the Quartier Latin chapter, he also said that he suspected that Koffi wasn’t giving him a chance, because of being in conflict with Papa Wemba. He gave that he reason that he left, was simply because of in his opinion thinking that he sings better than most of the singers that were there and was fed off of being sidelinded and when deciding to leave QL that Thomas Lokofe said that he would also leave. He also revealed that when Jeancy became a great success, Koffi was mad at Sam Tshintu and co, saying that he left because of them. Pompom Miyake also said that he was brought by Beevans to Quartier Latin since that Babia stayed in Europe and that the same Beevans also brought Thomas Lokofe to Quartier Latin (Beevans said in one of the interviews that he was the person who brought late Mboyo of Zaiko to Quartier Latin, which he regrets) and they prepared V12 all together in Koffi’s house at the Inga-avenue.

Despite many parts being interesting, I do not know if Pompom Miyake’s interview is credible. Because it is a bit different from the many interviews he made in past before Bana Viva, looks like he’s still angry at Bendoson. It seems that he also hates Koffi Olomide much. I think that something happened behind the scenes like the way he doesn’t like Ferre Gola. Must be something about sidechicks. For example, in interviews in the past he said that Nouvelle Ecriture de l’an 2000 disbanded because of them not receiving any support from donors because of them getting threatened by influent viva-fans, who were mad the way Bendoson used to attack Wemba in interviews and also that late Bob Masua had to produce them, but retired from the project after getting pressure since that his wife was related to Wemba. But here he said that the band disbanded because of Bendoson having a big mouth and disrespected their donors Jeannot Lomata and Delphin Ngandu, who were in the diamond business. Both donors on the same time giving the co-founders (Ramazani, him and Christian na Nzenze) an offer to join Quartier Latin and him (Pompom) refusing because of not wanting to betray Papa Wemba. But in one of his interviews, he said that Koffi Olomide contacted themselves. Later on he said that singer Dikando Bols made him join Victoria Eleison (I still don’t understand why Emeneya didn’t bring Dikando and Sankara Wewa to Europe as reward for their royalty).

Another point is the story about Nouvelle Ecriture. However, I think that is one may be true and think that I could finally close that chapter after years. Because for years I was wondering if Bendoson got the name Nouvelle Ecriture from Debaba, after singing with him in concerts that Papa Wemba made in Kinshasa, when coming in 1993, being backed by former Viva-musicians and those of Tambour le Vallios. Since that Debaba was mentioning it sometimes in concerts and a singer of Choc Stars called Chico Mundele also calling their band Nouvelle Ecriture. In this interview Pompom said that Lambio Lambio used to collaborate with different bands with to train dancers and him at some point talking about Debaba, saying that Choc Stars wasn’t anymore how it used to be and that all musicians had left, leaving Debaba on his own. But that Debaba made an interview saying that he’s working on a new album called Nouvelle Ecriture and that if the flops, he would stop with music (with new recruited musicians Lassa Carlyto, etc.). However, the album didn’t come out. Bendoson then in the conversation saying that the name ‘Nouvelle Ecriture’ could be nice and they could use that name for their album and later on the name getting adopted as the name for them band, which was first often called Viva aile Kin. However, when I think back to that era, Debaba was already a brother a Christ since 1994 and also released a gospel album . So did Pompom forget how the conversation went or does he don’t to give Bandoson the full credit about the name ?

Also, I am wondering what the real date of creation of Nouvelle Ecriture was. Because Pompom Miyake said that they went to Libreville for concerts and met Koffi there, who went to talk with Wemba about Wake Up. But if I remember well, Wake Up got released somewhere in autumn 1996 and Nouvelle Ecriture’s sortie officiel at Intercontinental was somewhere in December 1996, since that Wemba used to return every year around new year to Kinshasa to do concerts with Unibra to promote their products. In the same period Koffi went to Europe with Quartier Latin to start their Europe-tour, how could they then have met Papa Wemba for Wake Up ? Or did it got created months before ? In another video Bendoson said that they went to Mbuji Mayi to open Unibra’s factory there and Pompom Miyake said the same thing (adding that they went with Wenge Musica 4x4, General Defao and Chic Choc Loyenge of Ngadiadia Ngadios). But he didn’t talk about their sortie official and said that they went immediately to Guinee Conakry, where president Lassana Conte arranged a plane for them to get them from Ivory Coast to Guinee. While Bendoson said that after Mbuji Mayi, they went to do their sortie official at International and Wemba requested to him to sleep at his house. If I remember well, in the concert of Intercontinental Reddy was talking about new year or christmas. So sad that the video dissapeared from youtube.

Pompom said that he was the first recruited singer of Nouvelle Ecriture and that they took Bendoson from the queue, after that Djess Nembanza said that he was present (he was already known since that he sung with them in the past), since that none of the 2eme voix-singer were convincing. But Bendoson say that he was the first recruited singer of Nouvelle Ecriture and that he saw how every got recruited. Who’s telling the truth ?

About the recordings of Nouvelle Ecriture, there are also different versions. Here Pompom Miyake said that Papa Wemba wasn’t present when they were recording it in Brazzaville like Pinos, while other musicians said that Wemba also sung with them in the studio in Brazzaville.
