It would be great if there comes a documentary about Maisha Parc with each journalist, politican and bandleader talk what happened. Many people think that Nyoka Longo was also there, forgetting that he was stuck in Europe at that time. I remember that late Lutumba Simaro was the only one that mentioned his name when it started, saying that he was the only person missing, but the rest didn't even mind.
I never understood Defao's decision to perform in Uganda with what was going on in Congo at that moment. Next to it, he next to Tshala Muana, Marie Paul and Werrason, L.D. Kabila's favorite. It was also weird the way he refused to talk to his bandmembers during the US-tour, when they kept refusing to go Uganda, knowing what could await them in Kinshasa (them having witnessed how they used to burn people in the streets in August '98). But Defao staying categorical and at some point firing the entire band. It was like he was hypnotized until this day I wonder how much money he was paid for it. On the end, Defao could return from 2003 to Congo without any problem for the way the political situation changed.
Talking about Defao performing in Uganda, I remember Digitalcongo once writing that Koffi was about to perform in Rwanda back in 2003 just after the US-tour and them one week later saying that they didn't go anymore because of the whole band refusing. But Koffi didn't fire them. I don't know who of Quartier Latin it was or maybe even Fally, but one of them around 2012/13 mentioned the story. It started by explaining how Quartier Latin used to be united and a family and then coming with the example, how they refused to perform in Rwanda back in 2003 with Koffi being seriously furious against them, but on the end not having any choice than accepting it
