Jipson made me remind of late Nono, who was thinking that Nyoka Longo was recruiting atalaku's to get rid of him. Here Jipson said that Koffi was recruiting tenorists to challenge, while it was more to replace the void Eric Tutsi and Babia left. He's also denying what Paparazzi and others said about him in that era of doing witchcraft and he nightmare Paparazzi had about him being in a car with Jipson and the car catching fire. But on the same time he had alot admiration for Lola Muana. The funny thing is that they both used to mess the chorus up in concerts of 2000-2003, there was no harmony between the voices and it was like they both were fighting about who could sing the highest and Soleil screaming in between. I noticed that Jipson mentioned everyone Ferre, Shella, Paparazzi, Eric Tutsi and Babia but not Mutshapha. Mbuta had to remind Jipson about him.
Mbuta Likasu really killed me when he imitated Lola Muana's vocal of Malanda Ngombe. It was interesting to hear that Lola Muana was Koffi's favorite next to Fally and Depitcho and that he used to call him "mon fils" and Lola drinking from his cup. I wonder what happened that made Lola lose his position for being one of Koffi's favorites. Was it Bouro's return or did he do something wrong that angered Koffi ? It seems that Mbuta was liking Lokombe and Alain Kabobo alot. I think that Mbuta would have made Alain Kabobo "Sarbatino le Batracien" to Bercy if he was Koffi Olomidé.
When Jipson was talking about the things that happened before the Bercy-trip made me wonder if Koffi was getting visa's for everyone and just selecting a few for the x amount received visa's. That must have hurted Soleil alot, thinking that you made it for Bercy and sleeping at late Maman Amy's house, only to discover later that you will not. But the version is totally different from the interviews that I think Soleil himself, Mamale and Depitcho made with Ado when explaining why Soleil was left behind. Through the interview I discovered that Claudine AC Milan also had some influence in the band, which is understanble because she was like Koffi's 3th wife behind Maman Godé and Aliane, if Koffi listened to her words, Jipson would have stayed in Kin after missing the flight. -

From what I could find, it seems like Lola got unlucky. Bouro's return highlighted the qualities lacking as a proper protege such as dancing skills and the superstar attitude. Unlike the group's initial response to Montana or Depitcho, Lola was laid back and I get the feeling that Koffi likes sowing a bit of competitive rivalry within the ranks. If you add Lola's appearance at Zaiko concert in 2002, that was the nail in the coffin.
As for Alain Kabobo, he couldn't sing (did you see his vocals during the repetition for Effrakata). He wasn't even all that as a dancer, mostly squatting and moving about like a monkey. Koffi promoted him early after Academia because he is similar profile to Bouro but Bouro is miles and bounds more talented. That's why when Bouro returned, Kabobo became an afterthought lol
What group had your favorite choruses? -
I don't believe that it was about dancing-skills for Lola Muana. Kerozene was who was an atalaku, couldn't dance but Koffi used to like him alot until he left and saw him as his child. The same for Babia he was Koffi's favorite at the time of Magie and V12, but wasn't a great dancer.
No band can beat the chorus of Quartier Latin (1994-1996). The harmony that Babia, Eric Tutsi, Willy Bula, Sam Tshintu, Modogo and Suzuki had in concerts was just magic. Sometimes I regret to have lost the cassette of the V12-concert at Intercontinental.
I also used to like the chorus of Wenge BCBG 1998 alot (Aimelia Lias, JB Mpiana, Alain Mpela & Blaise Bula) -
The problems between lola and koffi was that he sold his car koffi bought for him to buy a landplot for his family and that he was dating a girl without knowing she's a sidekick of koffi i dont remember the girl's name but koffi was having pretty explicit mabanga towards her like " posa na lia yo sikoyo sima na zongisa yo na ndaku" or something like that
talking about lola and koffi since there was that "silivi" thing between them and lola claiming to be the author,do you believe that version that silivi was about sylvie mulumba who jb dated after amida -

The chorus of Extra Musica (1999-2001) and Academia (1999 to 2001) was pretty dangerous! I don't blame Lola, because land is more important than a car. They don't even get paid that much so a car is only a recurring bill for maintenance which is lot when you have a family and other responsibilities as you get older -
Kabobo could dance lol stop the cap. He was recruited mainly because of that, all the musicians that have been interviewed from the attentat era always say Depitcho, Fally, JF, Chikito, Jordan and Kabobo were the best dancers in the group at the time. Jipson is lying lol he cursed Paparazzi because how can Jipson get left behind for the concerts of Gabon and Paparazzi goes in his place and ends up losing his voice during a concert and Jipson ends ups joining them in Gabon, that's not a coincidence.
Preparation for the trips to Bercy always sounds stressful because musicians always got into car accidents just before the trip from Latino with Depitcho, Mamale, Jf, Champion and co who were all gifted cars after Academia was formed all got into accidents, then you had Ferre, Jdt and co who all got into accidents before their Bercy concert, same with BCBG.
You had Chikito and Soleil who were certain to be going to Bercy and their names were even on the list and then their names mysteriously disappeared from the list and Jordan who was never travelling with the group outside of Kinshasa made it to the list.
Even with the Bcbg the pipiyus were stressed out because they didn't know if they would make the list either.
About Lola he quickly fell out of favour with Koffi just after Force De Frappe because if you notice he wasn't present in many of the clips same with Eric Tutsi who also fell out with Koffi around that time. I don't believe because JB and Sylvie started dating in 2003 and that was also the moment when Quartier Latin started preparing Monde Arabe. I don't know who Sylvie really is, but I hadn't heard bad stories about her compared to Amida. Also when Monde Arabe came out some people used to say that the song was to mock JB about Amida being unfaithful -

Despite falling out, Lola apparently contributed in writing songs and also some bass or rhythm partitions, which made Koffi still respect altough not being his favorite anymore. But things chaning just before Affaire d'Etat and Koffi started to beat him often in public. -
