Celebrating Viva la Musica’s 15th Anniversary

It was weird for me to see them singing the song "La Vie est Belle". I've don't recall seeing Viva la Musica singing it live. Maybe that sung it, because of the French television being present. from 11:18 min
 
This concert is one of the rare shows, of the Viva "Made in Paris"-generation (1987-1998),where I saw Papa Wemba singing the song Bokulaka. late Bojack Bongo Wende interpreted late Rigo Star distortion lines very well. You can see that Wemba felt a bit nostalgic, when singing the song. from 14:47 min

I think that it was Addy Londole, who said that the sapeurs of Brussels all ended up in jail before the show, which made Tshetshe Tchernobyl win, who used to live in Switserland at that time. Two or 3 years later, the same thing happened, when Papa Wemba performed in Brussels. The sapeurs of big names from Brussels and even those of Paris all getting arrested just before the show and Franck Issekeya "Le Roi Soleil", who used to live in the Netherlands at that moment, winning that night and even receiving a trophee for it.

Some parts of the concert were used for the documentary that France2 made about Papa Wemba and the Congolese community living in Brussels (filming concerpromoter Kokar Masakuba and his family, late Loris La Congolaise and Mère Malou). Unfortunately, the documentary dissapeared from INA Congo's channel and only a small part of it being on CongoTopNewsChannel as tribute to Loris La Congolaise, who passed away that year after contracting Covid-19 at Fally's Bercy.



I wonder if we will ever get a band with that much of stars. Papa Wemba really deserved the nickname "Formateur des Idoles" aka Foridoles. What did female singer Tanya became ?

Thank for sharing this. How long was this before the Nouvelle Generation creation? Was it 2, 3, or 4 months before Lidjo Kwempa, Fafa de Molokai, Bongo Wenge, etc left?

Nouvelle Generation’s “sortie officiel” was in december 1992. So the band must be created somewhere in October or Septembre 1992. Before the creation they also performed at La Madeleine, but without Stino & Reddy. The show was apparently bad, which made Wemba extremely mad. So the following rehearsal he went to attack Stino very hard, also said that everyone had to write a job application and that the door was open for everyone that wanted which led to the creation of Nouvelle Generation. Before La Madeleine, there already tensions, because bandmember were complaining about the payment. According to Joly Mubiala, Wemba at some point selected sometimes a few musicians and perform, for example to Switzerland secretly without informing the rest, the musicians getting informed by fans and going there last minute. Both Joly and Reddy explained that it was because there to many musicians in Viva la Musica, which made it difficult to pay everyone and Wemba keeping accepting former musicians back.
