It was the first time that I heard that Bendoson left Nouvelle Ecriture once again just after the Stade des Martyrs, because of musicians not liking him, him only rejoining because of Papa Wemba insisting.
I was surprised to hear that he and Suzuki had a band together in Ngiri-Ngiri. It seems that all singers that breakthrough in the 4th and 5th generation already knew each other from streetbands. It was also surprised the way Sampaio, Rio and Eldorado were in the same band. It won't surprise me if Eldorado kind of influenced Rio's way of singing and also Sampaio before switched to copying Emeneya. Sampaio explaining about them already having sung hitsongs that would be sung by stars like Fally, Ferre, JB and co, made me really wonder what the songs were, that were later sold by Eldorado. Was Ferre also part of that band for a short moment ? Because I remember Eldorado once saying that Ferre was his pire petit in Ngiri-Ngiri. It must have been humilating the way Emeneya didn't select Eldorado but Sampaio instead, especially the way Emeneya said to Eldorado "oza na ba voix ya ba arabes" hahahaha. Spino la Djatence just being selected, because of bringing alot of women to the band. It must have been frustrated for all singers thinking that they pass, but Emeneya saying that they have all to restart and them all not getting selected. Hearing that the first official team was just Malembe Chante, Papy Kalombo, Roi Babel and Anthony Sampaio is crazy. What made Papy Kalombo not staying longer in Victoria Eleison ? According to Guy Moller, Roi Babel got fired because of once saying to Emeneya that he didn't sing well, which made him after performing at Palais du Peuple not being there at Stade des Martyrs.
Hearing how Sampaio was part of Zaiko Familia Dei, Big Stars and Wenge El Paris, made me realize that he has a huge background. Although being on its decline alot of talented musicians were part of Familia Dei, Dolce Somono Parabolique, Pathy Bass, only to name a few. So sad how the adventure ended. They had just to accept to change their name or just respect the 7-years contract to stay in Tanzania. The name Zaiko was like a curse to them after losing the legal battle. Looks like multiple bands/solo-artists signed that kind of contracts, but none of them respecting it lol.
The band of Jolino was so talented. It was a shame that the generation of Sampaio, Rio, Shay Ngenge and co didn't got the chance to record an album with him, because of Jolino prefering to their pre-records to let session-musicians in Europe interpret it. Looks like all Europe-guys who had bands in Kinshasa, just used to them to bring ngulu's to Europe or built houses to let musicians stay in it, to avoid problems with family-members. Is there any bad that toured more than Defao's Big Stars in Kongo Central (Bas-Congo) ? or which band comes on the second position ? Grand Zaiko Wawa ? The part of how Sampaio and Jirbo Ntuta got fired by Defao made me laugh. I wonder how Jirbo managed to get back.
Is there still a band in Kinshasa that get split in two for concerts and them performing also on tuesdays, wednesday and thursdays next to the weekends ? I really wonder how Sampaio's contributions would have been if he stayed in Wenge El Paris next to Charly Chaplin, Arc en Ciel and Kene Kene. But he did well to not stay, otherwise his name wouldn't be that big and already be forgotten. While after he joined Victoria, his name became really big due to his many tv-appreancesand journalists even giving him a great future, which sadly didn't happen, due to his early departure.
I don't think that Victoria-fans will be happy, by saying the truth that people went to see Emeneya at Stade des Martyrs, due to nostalgia and Marie Paul being guest. It will not surprise me if some fanatics and former bandmembers will attack him for saying that. It's a shame that Petit Prince got issues with his voice in the studio, when they tried to record the remix version of Sango Mabala Comission. It would have been great to hear that version on Mboka Mboka. So sad that Fatou la Gazelle already passed away. I thought that she was still alive. It must have been hard to be a bandmember of Victoria in the period of Mboka Mboka till Longue Histoire. Musicians of Nouvelle Ecriture and Quartier Latin keeping going to Europe and them going nowhere, musicfans and people mocking Victoria-musicians for it.
I remember Guy Moller years ago having with Vinny Mpela (who had a youtube-channel with Lumba Bawu, which sadly doesn't exist anymore), saying that Sampaio was supossed to travel with them to the US. Accoring to Guy Moller, Emeneya ordered Sampaio, Mbuta Bass, Zoe Bella and Guy Moller to sleep at the rehearshal place, so that they would get to airport in the early morning. Sampaio who lived to close by decided to sleep at his house and said that they had to wake him up, if they would leave. So when Emeneya arrived early in the morning, he said that he would go immediately, the rest saying that they had to wake Sampaio up who was his home. Emeneya was mad, said that they would go straight to the airport with out him. Sampaio only discovering when he woke up that his friends were already gone. But with Mbuta Likasu, Sampaio didn't come with that story. Does it mean that Guy Moller's story was fake ?
What I don't understand is Emeneya himself being against the US-trip, because of thinking that they would run away. But months later when Guy Moller, Sampaio and co decided to left seriously crying, etc. really weird. Looks like apart Guy Moller, all musicians that left personally met Emeneya in person about rejoining Victoria. I'm sure that if only one person succeed to rejoin Victoria, that they would end up by returning. Thinking about the how Guy Kimvula tried to convince Eric Masudi, the way the whole group was at Sampaio's house after talking with Emeneya and the way they were tightly bonded, when someone of them was about to rejoin, made me really think if Mambo was controlling them spiritually. Because that unity wasn't normal. It was like they had some kind of a pact.
