Solid atalaku, it’s a shame he spent his entire career in Wenge EL Paris and there’s hardly any archives of EL Paris on YouTube. I think he’d have got more respect if he was in Maison Mere, Bcbg or stayed longer in Quartier Latin. If CNN wasn’t in QL at the time I think he would’ve been the number one atalaku in Latino because I can’t imagine him being at Bercy with CNN and Ocean because his voice is quite similar to CNN.

Thinking how Tutu Calugi and Gentamicine managed to animate together for 3/4 years with their voices being similar at that time,  I believe that CNN and Bizima could animte together with Ocean without problem, but I am sure that it would lead to problems on the long-term. CNN and Bizima sound more similar compared to Tutu and Genta. But that being said I honestly think Bizima would’ve gotten more respect if he stayed in Quartier Latin because look at Ocean and I’m talking before he passed away people respected him because of his work at Bercy and Force de Frappe whilst he only stayed in Latino for over a year, and he managed to have a good run as a session atalaku because of that but it also exposed him for having no creativity because he just kept animating cries from attentat, force de frappe and Bercy.

You’re right it would’ve caused problems later down the line because if you’re a similar style Koffi likes his atalaku’s to be in conflict just look at Somono and Bivens, CNN and Mboshi, CNN and Brigade, Apocalypse and Brigade, Apocalypse and Mboshi.

Speaking about Mboshi lol at this point he might be the problem because him and CNN don’t like each other, him and apocalypse don’t like each other, him and Somono had conflict, at the fara fara fara against clan wenge he was kind of ignoring kerozene..

I have noticed that BCBG has this trend of looking Atalakjus with similar voice for example If you listen to songs like Kipe Ya Yo





Tthere are some cries where I had to check the video and concerts to understand who was singing it because they were too similar,, in fact it was until Cellulaire died and one of his best friends in an interview said that Mundenge was his crie that I knew it was him, cause I would have neverguessed it was him, but I think that from Mpunda and on it became easier to distinguish Genta and Cellulairebecause Genta's voice got worse and it wasn't that crispy child like voice that He used to have

I really wonder why Mboshi doesn't like Kerozene. If I remember well well Kerozene once said that I went to, I believe Tapis Rouge and that Mboshi didn't want him to animate. It's crazy how Somono and Dolce felt out, they were like brothers. It's a shame that their conflict killed the Ligue des Champions-project they had together. Their conflict also messed the Academia-reunion up. Sam and co took Equalizer to replace Mboshi, but he couldn't fill the void that was left. Academia isn't Academia when one of the 7 co-founders is missing.



About Apocalyps vs Mboshi, it was more that a big part of QL were against Mboshi and Modogo rejoining. A big part of QL-members weren't liking him and Apocalyps would sometimes interrupt him during concerts when doing animation and throwing shots, like he used to do with Brigade in Kinshasa, when Brigade rejoined after coming from Maison Mère. Mboshi already tried to rejoin Quartier Latin back in 2004, when they came for Monde Arabe, but according to Martin Mapangu's daugther in l'Heure de Pointe 2, he was rejected by Fally, who put him on his place due to his past with Academia.

It was due to Tutu Calugi’s success on the Pentagone album that bands started recruiting atalaku’s like him, while the style of Ekokota and Djuna Mumbafu becoming outdated. Even before Pentagone, there were already bands in Ngiri-Ngiri, Kasa-Vubu, and Matonge where singers would do animation themselves or animate in a way of singing. But after Pentagone, it spread across Kinshasa and the entire Congo, with street bands featuring two and at some point even three atalaku’s, all animating in Calugi’s style.



The first major band to adopt this was Wenge El Paris in 1997, recruiting Patou Bofosa and a few months later, Bizima Kodos. Both of them animated next to El Paris veteran Doukoure and a guy named Atshuda on the Couvre Feu album. Bizima even getting voted by ACMCO as best atalaku of the year 1998.



Wenge BCBG, which was the origin of what became known as École des Calugistes, recruited Bidjana (who later joined Zaïko), whose voice was almost identical to Calugi’s, when returning from the Titanic trip. However, just before Zénith, Gentamicine joined the band and replaced him after he fell ill.



After Solola Bien, Calugi’s style became outdated and many bands slowly started to move away from the practice of having two or three atalaku’s animating in that  style. Most bands now preferred to have an atalaku in the image of Bill Clinton, someone who could not only animate, but also dance, do stunts. Many also wanted to recreate the duo of Celeo and Bill Clinton. Despite the trend being over and  Kilimanjaro’s short stint with the group, Wenge BCBG continued to stick with the École des Calugistes format.

i think they made a second peace recently,mboshi seems to be the type like "quiet but mad resentful" for example i am sure he did not like how he "felt humiliated"with cnn in his last days before going to europe to join academia,or how koffi was calling brigade in front of him "patron ya ba animateur" or how apoca loved to act too competitive with his colleagues(brigade  acide and co) even trying to do their animation by force in front of them by moving quicker
you can see something similar in the ya poly and koffi relationship,ya ply still is never over what koffi did with his visa and somebody else travelling in his name and stuff like that
