I was thinking about a topic we had a few weeks/months ago where we talked about how Fally and Ferre are showing no signs of slowing down even though there approaching their 50s but there’s no new artist coming up like they did.
But it made me think of Hip Hop and RnB because in Hip Hop it’s still the Big 3 aka Kendrick, Drake, and J Cole still running the scene whilst they’re approaching their 40s and in RnB it’s mainly Chris Brown who’s also pushing 40 even though there’s guys like Leon Thomas that’s making a name for himself.

The point is back in the day especially the past 20/30 years in those genres most big guys would running the scene would be in their early to mid 20s but it would never be guys approaching 40s and 50s.
I think we’re now in a world where young artists aren’t leading genres anymore because when young ones come in the game they don’t last long and get finished quick whether that’s in Congolese music, hip hop and rnb.

The downfall in our genre is bands have become too focused on the leader that it’s hard for band members to shine, but yeah thoughts?

What’s annoying is that even the band singers and atalakus are getting old! Look at the Quartier Latin singers that have come to Europe 😂

JR33 and Catholique are the only two band members that give me a small glimpse of being potential leaders. Can add Rhize too but even he was quite older and now he’s gone lol

Yeah and if you look at it well even with the states guys,we no longer see people coming from a group and the one with the biggest x factor naturally shining in solo,lets say like gims did in france,so instead of having 10 super super strong superstars like we grew up to we have 70 guys who all reach some level then 3 to ten max of them who really go strong global and have longevity
i often joke with my nephews that i have never heard as many " lil something" as now lil this lil that and their demography did not else that case,you can have a fantastic financial career just being a guy living in memphis or in ATL or whatever  because the industry is well organized,so more people rise  to quick stardom but peak very early,we have some of the same with the generation of innoss the two gaz gally and co,having kids  and being able to buy and build houses seems like some sort of ceiling to them,while they should have been the guys having fally and ferre on the ropes but they are having and easy ride,fally just completed by a gigantic distance his least active period of his career and not one of the generation behind including the heritier and fabro has been a threat to make him go relentless to set a record straight,and ferre aswell has not been in a hurry to go relentless,fally people will take the piss  and thats it,but outside of that no threat at all
and unfortunately for us,we have the generation the least interested in congolese music as a whole so this situation we might be like 1 per cent worried about it,for most people as long as their star is doing well and they can banter the rival,its perfect the rest can die if they want so we might even be the rare people remembering paradis des stars,the new car of x or the new balenciaga shoes of y are more stuck in some fans mind that actual music prospect
