I was happy to finally get the chance to see the interview 18 years later after seeing those extracts on Bjone's youtube channel, only to discover that Bijone uploaded the most important parts. Marie Paul was clearly jealous of Werra's succes. He was downplaying those crowded open-air concerts, saying that his concerts were of money, like Tabu Ley, Papa Wemba and King Kester Emeneya in the past. If he wasn't already down at that time, he wouldn't say that. Artists like Reddy Amisi openly admitted that those open-air concerts even if they were for free were no joke. Reddy even congratulating artists who were able to have big crowds every week, since that was struggling to get them. It's a shame that Marie Paul's videotape of his concert at l'Esplanade de Palais du Peuple never got released in Europe. Him complaining years about it, shows that it was the biggest highlight of his music-career. You would think that RTNC would have saved those images since that they were filmed by them. But our country it's sadly weird when coming to archives.

I don't understand why Gaulthier Mascotte just didn't release vol 7 in two parts as volume 7 & 8. Because 7 hours is to long. You must be unemployed to have that much of time to watch everything. In that era DVD's of concerts were 3 or 4 hours. You would have no time to watch 2 or 3 DVD's if you had vistors at home on a saturday nor time to watch different movies of Djany (RIP) with Koko Bilayi, Dady (RIP), Viya, Pululu (RIP), etc., if you didn't want to pause or skip it.

I am afraid that this youtube-channel will dissapear soon with the huge amounts of videos he's uploading every day. Do you remember the day who uploaded the video's of Quartier Latin performing at LSC in 1995, Pay Tex presenting Empire Bakuba in 2000 with Mimiche, comedian Maman Epela (who used to be a dancer at that time) and co. He also used to upload alot of videos only to dissapear in no time, after starting to get threatened in private by former producers.

I always liked how often Marie Paul praises Evoloko and Gina Efonge in his interviews and to some extend also late Mopero Wa Malabo. He's one of the rare artists to do that of the clan that came after Clan Langa Langa. Most artists always praise Papa Wemba or King Kester Emeneya when coming to the 3th generation. Talking about Marie Paul's interviews, I have noticed that in most interviews Kinshasa interviews Marie Paul did from his return in 2004 till 2023, there's often one person clapping on his own and nobody following him hahahahaha. I wonder if it's the same person in all those interviews
