it might sound extreme what i am about to say,but somehow,la zamba held the soul of what remained from the golden era,coincidence or not the loss of la zamba went along with the strong start of very self centered congolese music aswell as almost a disdain at some point to true congolese music for the sake of trying to be up with global market

Werra should’ve just bought it a long time ago, loyalty doesn’t mean anything in the long term. Now look even maison mere rehearsals don’t hit the same anymore. But to be fair even before he lost La zamba the place became dead 2 years before Werra was kicked out.

I saw those images and pictures on Tiktok yesterday. But I can't find them back anymore. It's really sad. I got some kind of flashbacks of the old glories of Maison Mère there, the rivalery against Wenge BCBG who were rehearsing at Mulhouse for a moment, also the last days of Wenge Musica 4x4.

I always thought that Werrason bought it until hearing that story when the owner closed its door for Maison Mère a few years ago, claiming that Werrason wasn't paying the rent anymore for years. I believed that Werrason bought it from the moment when they were renovating it in 2001, to make it bigger, changing also the original name "Samba Playa" into "Na Zamba Playa". Maison Mère at that time rehearsing temporary at Bar Un Deux Trois until that the renovations got finished.

Zamba Playa was the last remaining mythic headquarter. The famous Kimpwanza which used to be Zaiko Nkolo Mboka's headquarter after the split with Familia Dei in 1988 lost it's signifance after that Zaiko got stuck in Europe for 7 years  due to Nyoka Longo's problem with the justice because of the ngulu-affair and when returning the place not more being Zaiko's headquarter. What wasn't said about  Nyoka Longo and late Vieux Sonnerie, when coming to Zaiko's success at Kimpwanza. Different pastors claiming that when Kimpwanza was empty that Nyoka Longo would buy a ticket himself and walk three times around the roundabout next to Kimpwanza and the place being full with people in no time lol.Today, Wenge Maison Mère rehearse there at Kimpwanza but it doesn't have the same impact like it used to have with Zaiko Nkolo Mboka. Quartier Latin's Oshwe 5 sur 5 lost it's signifance when the team of Fally left. Un-Deux-Trois got killed when TP Ok Jazz disbanded in 1993 and from that moment becoming the cake of different bands. Veve Center wasn't the same anymore after Victoria Eleison settled in Europe in 1991. Madison Square hadn't impact anymore due to Choc Star already being finished, etc. When Fally came with the concept of not having public rehearshal different artists slowly started to adopt it. Ferre Gola was countering it with his public rehearshal and at some point tried to come with a concept similar to Zamba-Zamba when he moved from Metropol (which was next to Zamba Playa) to Un-Deux-Trois but for whatever reason he stop doing it.
