Out of all the musicians that had the opportunity to put a song in the album Bikou had the best song. Ant Terro isn’t a great album especially because after TH and Internet the standard was too high and the sound wasn’t good either, at 6:35 if you have earphones you can hear cackling on the sound.
It’s too bad he left bcbg just after the release of anti terro and wasn’t around for when they were filming the clips so he could’ve profited from it, so instead he filmed his own version in London which was better than what jb came up with because the clips they recorded for anti terro were straight trash.

I’ve been listening to Anti-Terro more recently and was planning to post the same that the album did not deserve the harsh criticism (particularly on sound from SA) it got back in the day. In isolation from the prior albums, it’s decent

Maybe partially due to where we are at with music today, but the compositions were pretty good and high ratio of sebene songs went against the shifting trend that year and following

If we compare it to music today then yeah it’s good but compare it to albums that came out that year like Monde Arabe, Miracles, Alerte Generale then it deserved the criticism loool especially after a three year wait.

I’m not a big fan of this album.

Monde Arabe had me very pissed back in the day kiekie. It was a shock going from the aggressive and very advanced sounding ADE to the Rhumba heavy theme.
But with time I accepted it as a good album

JB Mpiana should have recorded Anti-Terror at Studio Ndiaye, the audio engineer did a phenomenal job with the equipment he had. Here are just examples of my favorite songs that were arranged by JP Kyss during that time:





Maybe JB should have crossed into Brazzaville and used the studios at Eben Ezer or IAD to record Anti Terror. I'm not really sure how he could feel satisfied with the quality of what we got compared to what he released for Primus and, what was he thinking?

Anti Terro is actually recorded in Kinshasa, it was only the generique and vicky nsongi that were recorded in South Africa. First, when JB Mpiana made clear that Anti Terro would be recorded in Kinshasa, many fans got worried. But through spokemen Roger Ngandu, Kisindjora and Mosaka, they made clear that they would record the album with materials coming from europe (mobile studio). If I remember well they recorded Anti Terro in RTNC2, like the way Nouvelle Ecriture did Somo Trop over there. The end result  depands on the mixing.

 I don't have the booklet. But they also written a bit about the difficult circumstances they recorded the album and thanked people for their support

esau was also done in south africa and the rework of vicky nsongi,at least,as they removed vocals done in kin by fudji,djino,abraham sakoko and late zulema and i believe lekasopo was given by kibens to genta there aswell
jb sometimes talks about esau in particular that he sang that song the last on the album having used all his budget allocated for that project(and also hearing about his first homejack of that year so he literally slept on the foor until they woke him up to sing,so that context funnily enough made it easy for him to sound emotional straight away)

You made a good point, A La Une is definitely poorer sound quality lol but Cocktail wasn't that bad, I just think the programmed drums were a bad idea. As Intervention Rapide Force, they were starting from scratch so I'll always give them a pass for the mixing
