this is when visa issues started with affair ngulu, his dancers were arrested in belgium coming from congo with deblaison wanga as their chief of delegation where they were  suspected of not being real dancers so they told them to seek asylum or return to congo if they are true dancers and they preferred to go back,so those who played that concert were those who were already staying in europe, its even singer ivon bigogo playing bass if i remember well, gesac at that moment either was still in detention in germany or had that broken leg

In preparation for a European tour, what's a average amount of visas requested? For musicians, probably 15 to 20. I'm not sure how many for admin, probably another 15 visas? I must have been a very lucrative business, I think 9/11 brought an end to ngulu phenomenon.

The West started paying closer attention to who was entering their country and under which kind of circumstances, particularly from non-White nations. If you noticed, JPS Production started getting investigated and slowly closed it's doors around that time as well.

Ooh so it was this trip that caused Felix Wazekwa serious problems with the justice 6 years later ?  It made me remind those interviews Wazekwa was doing on Congomikili where he would attacking Koffi very hard and that lawsuit he did with his Congolese lawyer

It is probably true that 9/11 had a contribution. But the ngulu-affair was the fault of Congolese musicians themselves. Congolese bandleaders themselves or their admin snitching each other at embassies about bringing ngulu's. About Papa Wemba's arrestation, Djess Nembanza revealed how white people that present at Wemba's Bercy, were wondering were the remaining artists were since that they announced something like 200 musicians performing next to Wemba, but them just seeing 30 artists. This made them investigating Papa Wemba for a 1 year and them discovering that they kept bringing a huge amount of different people over with the same passports. Papa Wemba also not having a choice since he had a huge debt and people started threatening him. The crazy part of the story is that nor JDK and Papa Wemba received the money of the ngulu's. It was just that they made the mistake to accept Monib Production's offer of Maison Mère, who had himself debts from people. I believe that that was the reason why Wemba had some grudges against Werrason after getting released from jail and throwing some shots towards him.

JPS Production had nothing to do with the Ngulu affair. It was Interpol and the French police who uncovered a large international drug network led by a drug lord based in Miami, with Jean Pierre Saah allegedly being one of the individuals linked to him. He was accused of drug trafficking and money laundering. When the police started investigating his office, he immediately fled to Cameroon and never returned to Europe.

From the bands that were often touring Europe from 1997, it was just Wenge Maison Mère. Wenge BCBG was always taking late Mbuta Kisolokele, who was their secretary-general (Roger Ngandu was at that just a spokemen). Wenge Maison Mère was from 2000 taking Elliot Mondombe and Criss Ibanga (who was also there in 1999), about late Ibrahim Monka (Monib Productions) I am not sure. Papa Wemba's admin was in Europe, but in 1998 and 2001, he brought Djess Nembanza who was working in Kinshasa for the admin of Nouvelle Ecriture

Koffi Olomidé was never taking admins to Europe. He was believing that they would run away. He only took Zingeti le Rasback to Europe during the Bercy-trip, but he ended up by staying in Europe, after ending up being in conflict with Koffi. Which made him decide to continue his studies at the university of Lille. Now he's  in politics of Congo. Talking about admins, I saw on Tiktok an interview of Faustin Djata getting interviewed by Ems, explaining what made him leave Quartier Latin and noticed that he had been using the same tactics for more than 25 years of arresting for employees of his admin

Having a concert with only two singers, the band, and to play such a modest crowd is super embarrassing. Doesn't he lose money renting halls that he can't fill? Did his staff not do enough to promote Signature and Yo Nani in Europe? For some reason, the clips and dances from the albums were well received but we wouldn't start seeing respectable crowd until 2004/2005.

Is it the lack of close association with established talent? I remember Werra and Koffi would strategically show up at each other's repetition as a form of solidarity, but Wazekwa had no contemporary to share that dynamic with. You see how Roga Roga aligns himself with Fally Ipupa and occasionally Werrason? I wonder why Extra Musica NH hasn't done the same, because Quentin Moyascko aligned himself with JB Mpiana and Wemba. Quentin and his group Extra Musica International got to perform as an opening act for Wemba's Olympia and JB Mpiana's Zenith of 99.

I don't believe that this concert was produced by Wazekwa himself. Concerts of Congolese artists during the 2000s in countries like Finland, Norway, Danemark, Sweden and Austria were often in such halls with modest crowds. Wazekwa was just unlucky with the visas. Also, don't forget that Sweden is a country were it snows alot when it's winter. It's not easy to sell a hall out in those countries during such periods, where the Congolese community isn't that big like in France, Belgium and UK.

Believe it or not, sometimes concerts of big Congolese bands in French cities like Marseille, Toulouse, Rouen, Nantes, Bordeaux were also like that. Hence why Felly Tyson praised Fally for those shows he did after U-Arena comparing it to the shows they did with Koffi in the 1990s and 2000s in those cities, which made many people mad

Signature and Yo Nani were well received in Europe. But with some artists it take some time organise big events. Except from LSC 2002, I don't remember Wazekwa performing in a big hall with a capacity of 1500. In Europe, Wazekwa was mostly doing playback-shows in  nightsclubs, performing in small halls of Paris and different citiries across Europe. It was only from Olympia in 2009 that he seriously entered the game of performing at big venues.

According Wazekwa himself in a few interviews after Olympia, he was already contacted in  the era of Et Apres to do big halls, but he was afraid that rivals would contact those same concertpromoters to sabotage the show.

Marie Paul once visited one of his shows at GHK with journalist Zacharie Bababaswe. If I remember well, Wazekwa once came to JB Mpiana's public rehearshal. He probably went to different shows of artists, but it would not have the same impact same impact as JB Mpiana, Werrason, Koffi Olomidé and Papa Wemba, since that he isn't on the same dimension like them.

Papa Wemba's was Extra Musica godfather, which why both Quetin and Roga were close to him. He was present in Brazzaville when their first album Nouveau Missiles got released on the market. For the same reasons, Roga invited Papa Wemba for the Zenith they done in 2001 next to Werrason and late Jacob Desvareiux of Kassav. Both Roga and Quetin would ask Papa Wemba for advice.

Extra Musica International had the same producer like JB Mpiana (late Simon Ndjonang) at that time. The same Simon who was also the concertpromoter of JB's Zenith requested JB to let Extra Musica International perform during the break at Zenith, like the way he asked him to insert Suzuki into the show of Wenge BCBG, as he was about to record an album for his label and needed some visibility.  JB Mpiana himself didn't even care about Extra Musica. It also seems that it wasn't even liking them.

Werrason used to give Roga Roga, Regis Touba and Guy-Guy Fall alot of advice. When before Mobutu's regime fell in 1997 Werrason fled to Brazzaville with his family and did some concerts with Extra Musica. From the moment they met in the 1990s, Roga Roga stayed in contact with him. Late Regis Touba even visited Werrason, when being a member of Wenge BCBG, which caused for more problems and being the nail into the coffin

at that time wazekwa was not self funding yet it started from olympia when he was on his way to become a millionaire and realised olympia renting and so on was like 40 k  45"only" and then he decided that most of his concerts would be self funded or co production
