Fally definitely deserved it. Not only for his double event at Stade de Frnace. But also because of his contribution on the Congolese music scene.
For example, his resilience against the combattants by going ahead with his event at Bercy. Nowadays, artists perform at venues like Zenith de Paris, La Madeleine, Adidas Arena, Grand Arena Paris, etc. But people forget that if Fally’s concert at Paris La Défense Arena never happened, there might still be a concert ban in Europe. Many people tend to forget about it
Next to it, also his collaborations with French and American artists. Before Droit Chemin, Congolese music was often seen by many youngsters born in Europe as music of their parents. But through his many collaborations with urban artists, and later by releasing albums like Tokooos and Tokooos II, he managed to become a bridge between them and the generation of their parents (who they call " bledards"). He also managed to defend and represent DR Congo and some extend also French speaking countries in this era where the African music scene is largely dominated by Nigerian music and since the last 6/7 years South Africa as well
