Damien Aziwa has some decent albums. I listened to his other albums, but not this one.. it might’ve just gotten to streaming platforms. Nice album, good sound, and you can tell Titina did his strict tuning on the drums - very tight in the manner he does best.

JB gave an unusual amount of space to BCBG members to participate as session musicians for other artists. Phillpe Guez, Nyboma, Guy Nsangue, and Ballou Canta also participated.

Maybe it’s just me, but I love stumbling upon albums from the peak era that I haven’t heard before. Everyone was on their A game back then.

If you were to ask all the major leaders of bands the most important thing to remember or master as you build your orchestra from scratch, in the early years, what would they tell you? I'm always fascinated to know when the leaders of QL and Maison Mere or Heritier and Fabregas realized they made it. That they broke the solo artist curse of the one impactful album then done, it's interesting seeing how they knew they were here for a long career

He also had Ngounda Son who later went on to do well in Victoria. Lots of talent, but managing and funding a band is not easy

If I remember well Damien Aziwa did once an interview around 2012/13 and said that when he started his band in Kinshasa, his ex'wife who was French wasn't happy that he spent months there and filled for divorce. Living between Paris and Kinshasa wasn't helping either, because everytime when he would return back to Kinshasa, he had to start over again, because big bands were recruiting his keymembers, which was discouraging him.
