I wouldn't say treated like dirt - they saw zero growth potential for themselves if they were to remain in QL, especially as Koffi himself had reached new heights of success. Koffi was paying the artists the same salaries over the years, whilst evidently being a millionaire.

Montana actually joined QL after releasing a solo album "Millennium 2000", whic was a  failure due to poor promotion. He was in dire straits after investing money in studio for that album.

Montana easied into QL despite his experience as Defao's Chef d'orchestre because of his big humor. He was one of the jokesters at concerts and behind the scenes. Unlike the others, he just sought to be a member and not immediately rise in ranks.

Being in QL was huge upgrade salary and lifestyle wise because Defao treated all the Big Stars members like second-class, even third-class citizens as my friend Bob White told me and revealed in his book. He's famous for being the first white member of a modern Congolese band and spent a bit of time in Big Stars.

You're correct, Suzuki received an invitation to participate at Zenith. His ex-boss wasn't thrilled to hear that.
