Not that he plays like Alain Makaba but his tuning and crisp clear sound is like that preferred by Makaba. This is the same tuning that Roga Roga also likes, the type of guitar also matters, each soloist has their preferred guitar.

All those guitarist you mention have peaked and thats why we don't hear much about them....

We don't hear much of them because they've gone abroad and going abroad means the end hence the usual words ''Europe is the cemetery of Congolese musicians.''

Yes,the list is endless, Pathy Moleso,Thierry Mogratana,Mboka Liya, Flamme Kapaya, Christian Bombole, Kimbangu,Christian Solo(ex soloist at Ferre's band),Tshanda formerly of Zaiko, Popolipo,Ramazani,Lebou Kabuy.............the list is too long,all these are excellent soloists just playing small time music in Europe. Alain Makaba too was on that list till he decided to return to Kinshasa,we hope he starts playing solo again instead of just concentrating on music production as he's been doing ever since he left Wenge BCBG.

Yeah right so Igwe calls him Makaba because of his tuning  :mrgreen:
As for the other guitarist you  mention, nothing new comes out the cemetry; they've peaked. Flesh Ingeta will be out soon lets reserve the argument till then.

My friend,you may find this hilarious but each and every guitarist has their preferred sound and we recognise their work by that sound that's why you see that some guitarists useonly a particular type or brand of guitar. Each soloist is unique and they use a preferred guitar because of the sound it produces that's why you find that Alain Makaba and Roga Roga's guitar works sound very similar,they use a similar guitar, Arc en Ciel uses a different guitar which produces a tone like the tone Alain Makaba is known for and that's how the name Petit Makaba came in.

This summer alone I introduced my boy to two Congolese soloist that played for Samba and Four Benga soloist. While most Congolese prefer Les paul/Gibson that Makaba, Roga, Tyson and Polyster at times on rythm most Benga leads prefer Ibanez which Arc is fond of as well...

For your own information, Alain Makaba and Roga Roga use a similar model and colour Steinberger guitar. I can tell you which  top Congolese guitarist uses what guitar but I guess the topic is now becoming about who knows what and it's beginning to suck so let's talk about something else maybe.

I have already said what I wanted to say, Arc en Ciel has done well and caught up with the standards that Flamme Kapaya left at Maison Mere, he really struggled to get to his level, the likes of Kimbangu and Christian Bombole were never used as rhythm or mi-soloists, those had proved their name prior to joining and the fans couldn't endorse them any better when they auditioned, Kimbangu and Bombole joined and went straight to record in studio. Arc en Ciel, Mogratana and Japonais had to prove themselves so it tells you a lot about what Werra thinks about the soloist position.
