from this forum a lot of people complain that Seguin is not a good drum mist.I don't know a lot about drums but I don't see any difference between him and others..I have even listen to Blaise Sabex play nothing...is it that others beat the drums harder or what ?  Kakol plays well to solo dancing ie following the dancers moves...is that it ?

yeah i think  you summed it up, those who think seguin is not a good drummer think so because he does not  always/often play with the agressive style of the likes of kakol,cambodge,aaron machin of blaise bula's group and co
so for some it's also associated  to the way he is physically,but like i have always said his problem in my point of view is that he nears his best only when its important concerts,when you know he is playing at stade des martyrs or grand hotel or fikin por example,its almost certain that he will be motivated and give his best,and its even better when playing in europe

Shamala, if you ask people like archos on this matter, you are 100% going to be missled. No way have I seen segiun play better since zennith 99. He is not siutable for wenge style of play. Titina is bebeto , period.  The guy has to go. If you are good you play the same whether you are playing for a presidential function or a funeral. Segiun mignon is not audible and he has a margin of error when trying to lead a sebene. Look at titina, kakol, that guy that plays for fally, meri Jo, champion esthetic etc, those are good. Bebeto, with more airplay, is far better than fat boy mignon and I wonder whether jb needs medicine to clear his ear drum.

I keep saying that i do not blindly defend seguin,i would not do it with any congolese musician,i respect your point of view but i think you are too radical,i find that strange to say that a guy who was became the second drummer of wenge 4X4 does not suit wenge,so werra makaba and co all made the same mistake?talking about bebeto if he was that special do you think he'd accept understudy role  for the 12th year now whereas there are plenty of groups where he could have been number 1,or would not he have been stolen by other leaders?
unlike you i am able to say good and bad points about seguin whereas for you its radical he is bad he has no talent he has to go and i believe if he was that bad fans would be calling for his head long ago,like it would happen in any group of bcbg's standard(maison mere,latino and co),there is nothing easier for congolese music fans to boo a musician they do not consider good enough and force him out

I believe you're carrying a baggage. Music cannot seem to hurt you this much! you should not be hurt so much for something that you don't have control over.JB owns BCBG and he still appreciate Seguin. Look at that video of JB visiting Kester's mother and you see who is next to JB not even Kibens not JDL but Seguin himself. So that is clear indication that the man is cherished there, just  be tolerant or else you gona have stress for no reason.

Seguin is more of a finesse drummer, Emo seems to like power drummers but like Archos says,its up to the band leader.

Kaisari, yes I like power in doing the drum and I like one who uses all pieces like titina......that guy will remain my best followed by kakol and probably awilos style. Segiun is soft and he is just cold, no life in him. I don't like him. JB has killed bcbg because of friendship....

Very interesting debate. I have been busy the last few days but I want to create a diagram to show the structure of the Wenge BCBG I would like to see but in brief, Archos has explained very well but on the other hand, EMO has one point, Seguin's style of playing is not standard like the likes of Kakol and others, he changes quite often and mostly plays the snare drum with a lot of weakness, I don't like his weak style,i prefer the power snare but still utilizing the other bits of the drum kit just like he did on Quel est ton problem and on Celeo's first generiques.
I had an interesting talk with my musician friend Renato Mundele and my friend Bencuri our co-admin here, Renato seems to share the same thought as EMO, he hates Seguin's weakness and also think Sunda Bass's style of playing is boring too.

To be honest, BCBG seems to have a weak team but it's amazing what they produce, they are like Manchester United football club, too many boring players but yet having a couple of interesting individuals showing massive talent but under utilised by the manager.
