Just say you don't know him,you can't judge him by the recorded CD's, have you ever watched Viva dvd's?  He's an excellent soloist and much more exciting than most of these soloists we know  except Papa Wemba's generiques and sebenes are not hardcore as they are a bit old skool, he arranges them himself otherwise the soloing by Dady and even his former number 2 Zamba  is excellent,Arc en Ciel is a kid anyone who knows Congolese music well will tell you.

I think Jdog doesn't know much about modern Congolese music going by some of his comments,firstly he cannot even identify Dady Bola the soloist who made Thierry Mogratana run away.

dady bola's problem is that he went in a group not specialist of generiques, the group he was in before viva  he created many solos used  by the like of kapaya,tyson, ficarré and so on..who got more exposure
they took those partitions and reworked them their way(dady bola after that group was often invited by djo k and he was not talking just playing and that's how viva spotted him)

Yeah,just like with Ferre's band,Viva is all about vocals so am also worried that even Hadji Solo will not be used effectively so we may lose him to desperate bands like Maison Mere.
Tomorrow i'll post a full concert by Papa Wemba for the like of Jdog to understand what Viva is all about and so that they know what Dady Bola does when let to do his own thing on stage, the video was a Fikin performance which coincided with Papa Wemba's birthday about 5 or 6 years,it's my favourite concert dvd,everyone who comes home asks for a copy of that dvd,Dady, Zamba, Tosha and Costa Pinto did some great work at that concert.

Muana Congo would be perfect in Papa Wemba's band because it seems he likes noisy and loud atalakus.

That is true Shamala Flamme and kimbangu play hardcore and just as Sly says, Werra seems to like that kind of style. You could see it on that Fikin 2009 concert, Japonais with his easy style could not match Kimbangu.

If you have noticed, all top bands in Congo have a certain way of arranging their sebenes, they have that as standard and each musician who joins is expected to play to those standards, Werrason prefers faster and aggressive drumming and solo guitar coupled with intermittent changes to the tempo and rhythm and he prefers extended sebene. Flamme Kapaya set that standard and each soloist who joins is tested based on Kapaya's set standard as it is Werra's preference, most soloists can actually play to that standard though they have their own preferred way of playing for instance Thierry Mogratana, he tried to keep things clean but brought in his own style he took with him from Viva La Musica however he soon changed and started playing Kapaya's style and has stuck to that now and the consolation is that his solos are crisp clear and with less mistakes on the notes and that is how Dadu Bola plays, he's fast,produces crisp clear solos and likes adding a lot of signatures like Kapaya so him adopting kapaya's style is more like eating ''porridge'' it's easier for him as he's got vast experience.

Arc en Ciel joined Maison Mere a long time ago and was studying all the other soloists like Kimbangu, he played rhythm and mi-solo and it took him a while to get to his current form, he's been the least experienced of all Maison Mere lead soloists recruited by Werra,he has a lot to learn.

There's not many sebene songs with Dady Bola but here is his own composition on the album Bazonkion, he played solo on it too,to cut the story short, Dady Bola plays to the standard and consistency of Alain Makaba,Roga Roga,Ramazani and Lebou Kabuya ie high pitched crisp clear solo and can adapt to any speed with ease, Werrason knows that very well and it's probably why he's recruited him.

Also listen to this song I posted above from Min 4.06 when he adds that signature and fires up the sebene with excellent solo partitions with grating effect, not all soloists can actually do that

thanks Sly am now schooled. i like the easy style not the complicated one....in the compicated style they tend to make mistakes...
