Hmmmm........This album cover is wired

I am afraid this growing trend by young Congolese musicians(would it be right to call them the 6th generation?) to go solo may not work for them. In the space of the last two years Fabregas, Deplick,Cappuccino, Brigade,Arca Dinheiro,Chikito, Djino Equalizer, Robinho and now Avatar have all gone solo. Some of them did not even last in bands long enough to participate in a single album. Don't you think they would have stayed in their respective bands for a little bit longer to mature musically. I agree for some of them the situation in their bands forced them to leave but either they should have persevered therein or joined other established groups to bide their time for the perfect moment. I bet most of the songs this guys will produce will be utter crap. I had time to watch and listen to Deplick's Cri de Elengi and am far from impressed.

All employees in bands are exploited by their bosses and this has been the cry of many for years. Last saturday, Mboka Liya the soloist explained  that he would have loved to join a band but he says they are all the same and he would rather struggle to make ends meet than worship a big musician because that is what happens in all these bands, those who get the spot in bands are the big worshipers, those who go solo are forced to go because of their conscience as they are sometimes forced to do things which they do not want to do.
