What i am happy about is what he says about  titina, makaba and himself.....its true that these guys were the ones behind wenge musica sound structure.

I don't understand is he struggling in life? If you check other soloists are doing pretty well.eg kimbangu, meleso and mbetenge.

I was talking to my good friend Renato who is currently on holiday in Kinshasa, he is good friends with Mboka Liya and he says most of the things Mboka Liya has said are true including the issues about black magic in music!

Now on struggling, he may not  have a good job or not be part of a major band but he's not suffering as you think,at least he doesn't have to beg. As he's been recognised as someone seeking asylum,he's been permitted to work and if he doesn't work, he still gets enough support to enable him have a roof over his head, have food on the table and wear decent cloths without having to beg that's just how good the UK immigration system is, the little shows he does with others every weekend is mainly for fun,the little change they get is just a bonus, most of the guys have jobs and that includes Renato himself and other musicians including the likes of Biku Le Bruin who was also with Wenge BCBG.

I have always liked Burkina Faso and he is one of my all time guitarists. But on this, i got to pull him for talking bollocks. JB & Werra don't even remember Mboka Liya to even think of deporting him. He left BCBG, when he was virtually playing second fiddle to Patou Solo so why would JB want him back? This is not  about music but a much sinister motive.
 
Building a profile of your so called enemies is a classic tried and proven method to enhance an asylum claim in UK. From the little he has given in the interview, one can surmise that he still hasn't been given leave to remain in the UK. The UK does not detain  refugees granted leave to remain unless they committed serious crimes, that warrant exclusion from the Refugee Convention. One can conclude that when Burkina Faso claimed asylum, his case was based on the premise that he is at risk from JB & Werra, therefore fears a return to Congo. The video is being used to make outlandish claims and "build evidence" to submit to Immigration............crafty little devil.

Indeed Maitre Werra, it's a calculated move and a bad one for that matter. He's an ingrate. He may have some truth in his sentiments but this is not the sort of stuff you spill in public because  as you rightly say, Werra and JB don't care about him anymore, he's not the only one to run away from a band mid or after tour in Europe so on this one he's alone and the comments by some of the followers on youtube show.l

He sounds bitter because of his own ignorance. The people he's mentioning don't give a monkeys about him, maybe some of those people's fans are the ones trying to mess him about.

he knows many of the combattants hate them because of personal problems so maybe they can support him since now he is in their camp
that strategy has been used a lot and since the other guys are diven by their hate they help them thinking they are on the same boat
of course jb and werra are not angels, but if  they really want to do something bad to mboka its not now almost ten years after it would happen

Oh yeah. I really feel for him, he's live to regret this. The same goes for JF Ifonge, the guys are going crazy with their funny allegations and I look forward to the day one of them will come face to face with their victims, you can run but you can't hide.

So pity for kind of guys like Mboka Liya et al for what he is experiencing now, I rated him so high, may be among the top ten soloists  ever emerged in DRC, unfortunately enough he has been trapped in the same hell hole like other good musicians emerged in DRC.

Lack of focus, vision, entrepreneurship skills, and more above all egocentric syndrome has drained away endowed personal gift in music arena. These people need to remember having enormous personal talent is one thing and transforming and actualizing the same into bumper harvest is another thing. Very few persons have been blessed with both and have managed to build fortresses which are ruling the world.

There are many examples of Mboka Liya's cases where they end up with blame shift games and crying for spoilt milk. The worst enemy in the world is no one else other than "self".

On the contrary, Mboka Liya is quite focussed and with the little resources he's got he's set up his own small recording studio  just like his other friend Jeannot Bell and they are working with a good number of UK based Congolese musicians, am sure when he has the right papers and funding he will be able to expand his studio and become more professional.

What I find wrong in his attacks is the ridiculous claims of the two ex bosses personally wanted him expelled from the UK,i don't think it's true but to be honest, based on what we've read and seen over the years, he's happy to be in London with his own decent rented home and having decent food and able to raise little money than being in one Congolese band working so hard and only being paid peanuts after concerts. This is the reason why most of the musicians who go abroad never return to Kinshasa, most are happy doing regular jobs and then doing music over the weekends in small clubs, it's good life for them and I don't blame them.
