certainly because  in most of the cases bcbg go for internal replacement,at rehearsals they have many many guitarists who succeeded at tests but who are yet to get a chance  given how  the solo and accompa section is filled,already 6 guys for two positions
  if you go to see seguin,kibens or genta at home they have many guitarists with them at home who succeeded at tests  but  mainly create for ficarré  and co ( not that those guys are lazy,but they are given the creations of those underground guys,like in all big groups)

Patou Solo was the 4th soloist at the time and 3rd in hierarchy at the time. Moleso was number one followed by Mboka Liya who had returned from his short stint as a solo artists then Patou and finally Ficarre so when Moleso and Mboka Liya decided to stay in Europe after JB Mpiana's first tour of Europe after some years, the young Patou automatically became number one especially that he had already been playing with the band already and actually participated on the album Anti Terro.

Yes, as Archos said, there are many musicians in BCBG who were recruited silently and have been doing understudies of the main band members and have been practising with the band for years for instance the rhythm guitarist Zygal joined Wenge BCBG in 2001/2002 and used to play rhythm for PPU as curtain raisers before the main band comes on stage ,he knows every song of BCBG, the same goes for Benji Bass, Bebeto the drummer etc, they have been there and once the regular band members leave those who have been in the reserve band simply fill those positions.
