Popular and doing well but he's a let down, he chose the wrong type of music, he doesn't represent congo at all, very sad indeed. He started by imitating Michael Jackson at Vodacom, tried out a few songs and some of us thought he might be the next Papa Wemba but alas he had other ideas when he was taken to the USA by Akon.

certainly not his choice, and also not being too much into music in lingala but rather swahili  does not help
maybe by  the age of  guys like depllick  he will go back to proper congolese music

The boy is already lost especially that he's even adopted that American accent. Let him carry on with what he's doing as he's become so popular, we depend on the likes of Deplik to represent congo properly.

I like him but I agree with you he has an amazing voice but then I heard his new sound and I was let down. So Akon did this?

nothing at all, but since congolese music is centered in kinshasa which is a lingala speaking city and innocent speaks swahili more than lingala the contact with fans would not be as eeasy as others, you see what i mean
they are plenty of swahili speakers between kinshasa boys(adolphe, brigade, capuccino to name a few)but they sing in lingala much more
 you see what i mean?

I see your point but why is a popular artist singing in languages popular than Lingala being shunned. After all he is not a Faux Chantuer as others would put it. ;D ;D
